The greatest warrior ever to walk the surface of Kunio.
There never was, and never would be, a more valiant man than Kibagami Genjuro. A native to Shonan, Genjuro was born to a Samurai father, who made sure that he would learn the ways of their people at an early age. But Genjuro never did like learning, and even as a child, he was a trouble maker, preferring fights rather than training. But still, his father never gave up, and the lessons learned would eventually paid off.
Genjuro was gifted with genius natural ability in the martial arts. Any weapon in his hand was deadly. When he finally did master his father's Bushido, there was none who could surpass, nor come close. Being on a plateau by himself allowed him to grow quite an ego, and he made no attempt to hide his arrogance. Instead, he challenged all of the other youngsters in the area, and when he was not fighting, he was gambling, or swooning the young ladies. |

For years Genjuro's skill would be left unchallenged, other than the occasional unfortunate Iga Ninja. Genjuro would loudly rant that there was noone on the planet that could match him in might. Two people would come along that would indeed challenge him, although in different ways.
The first meeting with the signifigant other in his life would happen at a time that neither had wanted, and an awkward situation. Hattori Hanzo, who had still been a lower-rank scout at the time, was sent to look about the nearest village. Genjuro, who had been hiding from a female that he had cared less for, was also in the very same village, loafing around with no particular reason. The two would meet, and although their first confrontation would end with Hanzo's fleeing, it would be only the first of several for an eventful decade. Genjuro would plant a seed of hate deep inside his heart, the seed being for Genjuro. His strong pride had been wounded, for Haomaru had been the only other to match his blade, other than this Iga Ninja. With that, he would undergo another rigorous bout of training, also falling in love and marrying sometime between.
The war would soon break out, ironically at the hands of Hattori Hanzo, who by that time, had risen to the head of the Iga forces. Also at this time, Haomaru and Genjuro, who had been known as an incorrigable duo, would also be recognized as the greatest warriors of the Shi. They would lead the war against the Iga.
At the height of the war, Genjuro, who had felt that he needed to take responsibility, also trying to keep Haomaru from danger, would challenge Hanzo once more in an honorable duel, the winner also deciding the result of the war. But as would be expected, Hanzo would bring an entire troupe of Iga Ninja, and slay the greatest Samurai of the Shi.
Kibagami Genjuro would die, as would the hopes of the Shi.
But his legacy would live on... |
