The bestestest albums I own as of october 2003.
Two things I love to get for free: CDs and pot. Recently, I had that penis receiver, craig, round to my house-hold with everybodys favorite chum - moore. Whilst they are a nice pair o' chaps, they insisted on smoking skunk with my bong. Not one to turn down a few free inhales for myself, I let them continue. Unfortunatley for them, they left a bud on my bed so I just smoked it all up, enjoying it slightly more in the knowledge that it was free.
Whilst it may be easier to attain pot for free, cds are always a trickier matter. A friend rarely leaves his cd on your bed and if he does, he'll be back round the next day to collect it. Well, lads, theses are my top albums that I own and these are ESSENTIAL for your collection. So if you're fucked for cash and can't buy them all straight away, lets hope you be lucky and 'find' your albums. Just like how kearns 'found' that copy of white trash....
For the more simpler amonst you, I have simply listed the artist, and album name. And, so you know what you're buying, or 'finding', I have also incuded a tidgy picture of the album in question and a brief write up on why that particular album is so damned kick ass. Also, I'd just like to point out that the albums I have selected are the ones you find in my CD player most. Sure, albums like 'dookie' should be up there, but some of the big albums aren't the most amazing in my opinion. Yeah, 'dookie' is a great album, but its not the mostest amazingest albumest I own. You'll see what I mean, dick-chops.
Before I leave you to read my absent minded waffelage, I have done you a serious favour if you want a sample the album before you buy it. If you look, the will be a 'best tracks' section underneath the album. Suprise suprise, the best songs in my opinion are found under 'best tracks'. Also, the songs with an * really are the greatest songs ever, but I've used that sparingly. If you want to sample the album first, then download the ones I say you should.
My Top Albumeos!!
12. Everclear - Songs from an American movie part 2 - Good time for a bad attitude
Grunge/rock
Probably one of the longest album titles ever, which also doesn't matter because the song are just so damned good. One of the first albums I ever purchased, and its stuck by me ever since. The occasional song may cause the average listener to keep away, for example 'All fucked up' is a very hard-rocking song. Most of the songs are great to listen to, even if a few choons are radio friendly. Good all rounder for new listeners and certainly dad approved rock.
Best Tracks:
Misery whip
Slide
11. Incubus - Morning view
Chilled roc
In my personal view, incubus are a seriously overlooked band. I mean, its the ULTIMATE chill out band when you've had one to many reefers. Mind you, this particular album is chilled, but the older stuff is absolutley mad. Mad and loud. And good. Incubus used to be described as a kind of nu-metal spin off. The music was rockin' and had a DJ scratching away. Then they release this. They still have the great riffs, but also slapped the odd acoustic in. Roll a reef and sit out in the sun to this album. And spark up, too, you dick head.

10. Rage against the machine - self titled
Rap-Rock
Who does not own this? Shame on you. By now, everybody should have this in the collection. I had a struggle to choose between this and 'the battle of los angeles'. It was a tricky choice, but this one pulled through because you can get it for as little as a fiver! The other fuckers like 12 knacker!  Sick of all the rap-rock about? And nu-metal? This band kick started all that shite off, but these guys were the original and best at it. Yeah, sure, alot of you may dislike rap, but with such crunching riffs, you tend to forget about the little weenie guy on the microphone. And atleast Zacks putting his heart into it, eh?
Best tracks:
*Bombtrack
Bullet in the head
Fistful of steel
9. The bouncing souls - How I spent my summer vacation
So cal Punk
Who the hell says 'vacation'? Oh yeah, americans. And this is exactly what this is: american punk. They never see a rainy day - its simply full of summer punk tunes. One of my first, and indeed, best so-cal punk albums ever, the fine beast will have you running down to the river in your boxers. While most of the songs aren't amazing, there are a few on there that are bound to be your all-time favorites. What are you waiting for? Go buy.
Best tracks:
*True believers (best song ever)
Manthem
Gone
8. Less than jake - Hello rockview / losing streak
Ska Punk
Is there a single ska-punk fan who hasn't heard of less than jake? Okay, maybe they aren't exactly the badgers nadgers after the latest album but when you've got this one under your belt, who cares? Good time skanking music at its best and its excellent value for cash. You see, not only do you nab Hello rockview, but losing streak aswell! And I suppose now is a great time to mention I've seen them 4 times live.... how many times have you seen them? Tradgic.
Best tracks:
Nervous in the alley
Al's war
Johnny quest
Krazy glue
Just like frank
7. Sublime - Sumblime
You name a genre and its here
From what once started off as one guy and a guitar ended up with like 12 people in a band at one stage of sublime's life. Mind you, you can have all the people you want, but you'll be pretty fucked if your front man has gone to meet the reaper. Nevermind, this is the album to own. A direct cross between reggae and rock with the slightest hint of rap, pop and punk. Don't let the rap part fool you, its not more the singing, but the actual music that reminds me of rap on the odd song. 'Pawn shop' is the ultimate skank chillout, whilst we have a few full on rock songs. It took a few listens to get me into it, but now I'm a firm fan.
Best tracks:
What I got
Wrong way
*Pawn shop
Burritos
6. NoFX - White trash, two heebs and a bean
Punk
My nan walks into my room as the last track on this album is playing. "Whats this?" She askes? I find it hard to explain that the track she is listening to is a piss-take. A piss-take on the music she listened to back in the day. You see, typical NoFX thinking, an all round top album finished off with a strangely good piss-take. This was released in 1992 and I was pretty slow in buying it ten years later. Nevermind, music hasn't changed much in the past 10 years. Full of top punk songs and the odd bit of trumpet thrown in for good measure. Its so damn good my nan likes it.
Best tracks:
Soul doubt
*Bob
Liza and louise
buggley eyes
5. Frenzal Rhomb - Sans souci
Aussie Punk
Okay, okay, its my latest purchase, so perhaps thats why its so far up the leauge table. Nah; this album is going to be a firm favorite for a long time to come yet. A fucking class album. I can't seem to shake the feeling that Frenzal Rhomb are an Australian version of NoFX. Some of the songs lyrics are utter stupid ('Lead poisoned Jean") and some have great comedy value ("Russell Crowe's band") but at the end of the day, there isn't one bad song on there. Highly recommended for any punk fan.
Best tracks:
Bucket bong
Cocksucker
I went out with a hippy & now I love everyone except for her
4. The mad caddies - Quality soft core
Cheesey Ska-punk
A bit of a tricky one here. I mean, all the mad caddies releases are fucking brilliant. But, for me, this was the one that beat the rest - hands down. If you find this one a bit too cheesey the try 'just one more'. However, if you can take the cheesiness from the trumpets then by all means get this fine fine cd. There are some fine skanking tunes here, so next time your party is crap, put this on and everyone will either leave or dance. Either way, you can't lose. Sort of.
Best tracks:
Goleta
*Preppie girl
Mum's the word
3. The Vandals - Live fast, diarrhea
90% punk 10% pop
Now, its hard to define this album. The vandals newer stuff is certainly pop-punk, you know singing about getting dumped and adding some fart-jokes along the way. I wouldn't call this album pop-punk though. With it being their earlier stuff, its heavier and theres alot less production on it. The songs are brilliant though. If you buy this and don't like it, you'll be very different from the rest of us, you know. Even for the more mature of you, "Change my pants (I don't wanna)" is going to force a smile and if that doesn't work, then "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious" will. So there.
Best tracks:
And now we dance
*I have a date
*Johnny twobags
2. Reel Big fish - Why do they rock so hard?
Highly catchy ska-punk
Many of you were probably wondering when the ole fish would get a mention. Well here you go. Indeed, this is a good stepping stone to get you into ska-punk. And what if you're into ska punk already? Then this will rightly reserve its place as "best ska-punk album you own". Gosh! You have A-ha "take on me" (A cover, dickface) aswell! Sure the other fish albums are amazing too, but this is a real gem to own. Even people who arse rap and r'n'b and even....ugh...pop music will think this is cool. Why are you still reading? Go buy it!
Best tracks:
*The set up
I want your girlfriend to be my girlfriend too
Scotts a dork
Big star
*Down in flames
1. Screeching weasel - Boogada Boogada Boogada
Hardcore Punk
"Why, what a suprise" you are thinking. "I never would have thought this would be in korals list at all". You are indeed sarcastic. This is my favorite album of all time. I don't care what anybody says. I love every single song on this. I'll admit that the other albums aren't half as good, but not this one. Its understandable that not everybody will like this, but hey, argue with me and get named and shamed. Perhaps after a few listens, you decide its not your cup of tea. Fair enough. You've still got to buy it though, so when I visit your house, I can listen to it.
Best tracks:
Zombie
Police insanity
Sunshine
*Ashtray
*NIcaragua
Supermarket fantasy
*Hey suburbia
