Only in Dreams


Ah, to love again, as in days of old !
When our hearts were young,and love was bold!
When our blood was so alive with spring
And like the bird,made our hearts sing!
When in all things I saw your face,
It never mattered, time or place.
In every song it was you I'd hear,
Singing love words in my ear.
We danced together through the night.
Made sweet love that seemed so right!
Hearts so full as we embraced the dawn,
Thinking our love would always live on!
But when in truth it was not to be,
For fate stepped in and took you from me.
But that was forever ago, it seems,
And now we're together, only in dreams.


Now in my dreams of yesteryear,

I see the smile and kiss the lips
