Life's Path

It's certain that from day to day
the sun will shine and fade away
we too must learn like all the rest
this road we tread is but a test

Just as the sun, we also rise
and pass through clouds and sunny skies
not knowing just what lies in store
behind each cloud, another door.

Dear God, grant me the well to go
where all the greatest rivers flow.
The smiles I share, the hands I cluch,
will make content all those I touch.
Then as my sun begins to set
I, too, can say without regret
my footprints sunken in the sand
can be a path for any man.
