Evidence In the original, there was lot of evidence piling up in the beginning but as the series progressed later, Kouji stopped occasionally interacting with Izumi so as to get to know his own twin brother. In the dub, it seemed like the dub writers were in support Kozumi, adding more impact on the potential couple pairing by adding more dialog. Both Japanese Version and Dub evidence listed below. ![]() In Episode Two, when Kouji first evolved to Wolfmon in the labyrinth and emerged out of the hole, Izumi was very impressed. When Wolfmon scanned Raremon, Izumi exclaimed in Italian, "Comozionne!" with a delighted face. ![]() In Episode Four, Kouji and Izumi met for the first time. Kouji slept at the Soyokaze Station/Breey Village and Junpei and Izumi found him while separated from Takuya and Tomoki. Kouji formally introduces himself but bluntly tells them where they actually are. When Izumi and Junpei thought it was the Forest Terminal, Kouji said, "The Forest Terminal, it isn't," and walks off. Izumi looked happy and said, "Kouji-kun! You came too. Where are you going?" Kouji refused to answer and said it wasn't her business. Izumi becomes angry saying, "What's with your attitude?" Later, Kouji noticed from afar that Izumi and Junpei are in danger. He runs to the scene and tells her to get out of the way. Kouji evolves to Wolfmon and defeats Woodmon. He returned the Digicode to Soyokaze Village/Breezy Village, and all greenery is restored. Izumi was very impressed, watching him in awe. She walks over to Kouji, who was still panting heavily and weary from fighting. Izumi offered her hand to him to help him up, but he refused and stood up on his own, walking away without saying anything. She told him to wait, but he didn't bother. In response, Izumi exclaims, "Geez, what a strange guy." In the dub, she said, "You know Koji, you could try being a little nicer," Koji only walks off then Izumi says, "I don't get why I try to like a guy like that…" and "I don't care what that Koji thinks, we were a great team!" ![]() In Episode Six, Kouji was single-handedly fighting Grottomon and crashed into the "sideways" house. He was about to fall to his death below but Blitzmon and Agnimon were too busy with Grottomon to come help him. Fairymon and Chakkumon flew in. Fairymon offered her hand once again. Wolfmon looked down but Fairymon yelled, "There's no time for that!" Wolfmon looked back up at her WITH reluctance and finally accepted her hand. Fairymon pulls him up and Wolfmon mentions, "Sorry about that," "No need to thank me," she said. Afterwards, they develop a strategy together to release the ShellNumemon. In the dub, Kazemon says, "Give me your hand... quit the macho act and give me your hand!" Also in the dub, as Kouji cut the ropes from his hands, Zoe yells, "Koji!" right before the evolution sequence. ![]() In Episode Nine, while Tomoki was under a dream spell, he attacks Izumi with a charred twig. Izumi jumps back and Kouji jumps right in front of her, saying, "Izumi!" Afterwards, the group agreed not to evolve so as not to hurt Chakkumon. Seeing that it didn't help much to stand around in the dark, Kouji evolves to Wolfmon and illuminates the dim forest. Junpei got mad at Kouji for breaking the agreement, but Izumi defended him saying, "Kouji-kun isn't like that! What are you saying that for?" Afterwards, Takuya evolved to see who was infiltrating Tomoki. Junpei got mad again, but Izumi ignored what he said and faced Wolfmon, saying, "Wolfmon, you have to stop this!" In the dub, this was cut out, but other dialogue was kept. ![]() In Episode Fifteen-Sixteen, after hearing Izumi scream and hitting the living daylights out of Takuya and Junpei, Kouji asks why she screamed. Afterwards, the group meets up with a group of Gomamon who are in desperate need of help to get back home. Izumi wants to help them but Kouji interrupts, saying it was useless without their D-Scanners. Izumi looked down, but persuaded them. Kouji finally agreed with a smile to help the Gomamon. When Izumi evolved to Shutumon, Calamaramon held her captive in the grasp of her tentacles. Kouji came up with the idea to insult Calamaramon's ugliness to free Shutumon. Calamaramon's inability to control her spin attacks allowed the group to reach the Gomamon's island. Izumi ran to Kouji (who was blushing madly) and Takuya, hugging them saying, "I couldn't have done it without your help." Kouji said, "Stop it." Izumi went off to hug Tomoki and Junpei as well. Kouji's facial expression after the hug was still very embarrassed and an obvious shade of red. ![]() In Episode Seventeen, the group was sailing on their wooden raft. They entered an area filled with icebergs and it was obviously very cold. Izumi was shivering and quietly muttered that it was cold. Kouji notices and hands his jacket to him. "Are you sure?" she asked and Kouji nodded. Izumi said, "Grazie! Arigato!" while smiling and blushing at the same time. Kouji was slightly blushing. When Kouji and Takuya found Junpei and Izumi eating instead of searching for the Toucanmon like they should have, Kouji saw Izumi finishing up all the food and smirked at her. In the dub, he said, "Well, she is a growing girl!" ![]() In Episode Twenty, the group went into the uncharted Dark Area in order to get to the Forest Terminal. As they saw what they thought were ghosts, which were really just rustling trees, they ran away. Izumi immediately ran to Kouji, holding onto him and scared out of her wits. Kouji was stiff as a stick and blushing madly. Izumi looked up, also blushing madly, apologized. The dub dialog was Zoe saying, "Oops, sorry about that," and Kouji squeakily says, "No problem." When they got into the battle with Petaldramon, Shutumon was caught by Petaldramon's long tongue but Garmmon sliced it off and freed her. In the dub, when Takuya and Koji went off to "talk," Zoe said, "I hope they don't do anything stupid." Others: ![]() In Episode Eleven and Twelve where Takuya went crazy as the beast spirit of Vitramon, Kouji and Izumi were standing next to each other, discussing about how to stop Takuya's rampage. In Episode Forty-four when Kouji saved his friend, Gotsumon, Izumi and Kouji were the ones to look after him. In the Final Episode, Episode Fifty, when all five of them combined to Susanoomon, Kouji and Izumi were holding hands (although this was more in terms of saving the world, not canon evidence). The Digimon Movie 7: The Revival of the Ancient Digimon ![]() Let me clarify that Kouji and Izumi did NOT kiss in this movie and was in fact, a fake rumor (I watched it myself). The only shown evidence was that they got separated from the group together. They were mostly eating together and dealt with the beast spirits. | ||||||
