Enemies Here is the enemies, the antagonist of the series (not including Cherubimon). Grottomon - Gigasmon ![]() ![]() Element: Earth (Tsuchi) Seiyuu: Nishimura Tomohiro Voice Actor: Derek Stephen Prince Info: Grottomon was the first of the five infected spirits commanded by Cherubimon to find the other remaining spirits. Grottomon is a very persistent digimon wielding a huge mallet. He represents the spirit of earth and was quite the annoyance to the Chosen Chidren for awhile. He is very versatile when it comes to using dirt as a tool. Grottomon was not the most powerful or smartest among the infected hybrids, but was very strong to be able to put up with all five spirts at once. He died in Episode 14 when Bolgmon electrocuted his brains out, scanning both his spirits. Other Info: "Grotto" means underground, which would pertain to his element, earth. "Gigas" is Latin for gigantic. Arbormon - Petaldramon ![]() ![]() Element: Wood (Ki) Seiyuu: Normura Kenji Voice Actor: Richard Cansino Info: Arbormon's first appearance was around the thirteenth episode. Arbormon is also not one of the brightest and tends to hang around Grottomon or Ranamon more than others. Aside from working out often, he usually does what he's told without hesitation. Arbormon was killed by Duskmon after dealing with all five chosen children in their beat forms and failed to kill them. Duskmon scanned his Digicode and no one questioned Arbormon's disappearance afterwards. History behind name: "Arbor" is the Latin word for wood/trees and pertains to botany. Ranamon - Calmaramon ![]() ![]() Element: Water (Mizu) Seiyuu: Haruhi Terada Voice Actor: Peggy O'Neal Info: Ranamon is the only infected female spirit. She was an arrogant snooty digimon. She thought highly of herself and had a personal fanclub wherever she went. She was the only infected spirit without her beast hybrid, which Mercuremon teased her about quite often. She is seen commonly with Mercuremon, only to be taunted by him or vice versa. Ranamon is perceived as very beautiful by other digimon. However, she was highly disappointed with the way her beast hybrid turned out, as she looked atrocious and could barely control her spirit until episode 26 (she usually spun away at each instance she used her drill attack, "Titanic Charge"). As a result of her ugly exterior, she lost all her fans, who would revert to rooting for Izumi. She was scanned by Fairymon in episode 26 after a long fight. History behind name: "Rana" means frog in Latin. "Calmara" is a misspelling of calamari, a type of food with squid, which is what Calmaramon is, a giant squid. Mercuremon - Sefirotmon ![]() ![]() Element: Metal (Hagane) Seiyuu: Yasunari Masutani Voice Actor: Daran Noris Info: Mercuremon is the second strongest of the infected hybrids. He was the hardest to defeat. It took a ton of energy out of Takuya just to beat him to a pulp. He was smart, didn't participate in fights, killed Seraphimon, and lots of other things to torment the chosen children. His special ability revolves around repetition and duplication of other's attacks. He, unlike everyone else, does not have a face, only lips. Mercuremon seems to enjoy torturing his subjects before going in for the kill. At one point he wanted to keep Seraphimon's data for himself and didn't tell Cherubimon, which makes it seem like Mercuremon has his own agenda. Around episode 33 is when he was finally destroyed by all hybrids (except Kouji) and scanned by Adharamon. History behind name: Mercury is an element in the periodic table. "Sefirot" refers to the Jewish Kabbalah and explains the general appearance of Sefirotmon (in the dub, he was renamed as "Sakakkumon"). Duskmon - Velgmon ![]() ![]() Element: Darkness (Yami) Seiyuu: Suzumura Ken'ichi Info: Duskmon and Velgmon are the infected spirits of Darkness made by Cherubimon that confused Kimura Kouichi. Duskmon never really cared for his partners, never participated with them, and was often just lurking around in the shadows. The only one he spoke was Mercuremon and even so, that was rare. His first appearance was around episode 14, but his face was not shown. His major fights were entirely with Kouji, and Kouji scanned him to finally discover his twin brother. Crusadermon - RhodoKnightmon ![]() Element: Paladin Digimon - Warrior of Love Seiyuu: Ryotaro Okiyasu Voice Actor: Sonja S. Fox Info: RhodoKnightmon is one of the paladin digimon, or known as the Royal Knights that protect for the common good. There are thirteen of them in the Digital World. Unfortunately, he was used as a tool by Lucemon to destroy the Chosen Children and usurp DigiCodes to feed to Lucemon in return to go to the Human World. Reasons as to why they desired to be in the human world (aside from accessing human data) are as of unknown. He effortlessly beat up MagnaGarurumon but in the end, MagnaGarurumon managed to defeat him. He is often seen carrying a rose and has feminine mannerisms. He sometimes questions Lucemon's true intentions but is eventually hushed up by Dynasmon. In the dub, he was voiced as a female-type digimon. Dynasmon ![]() Element: Paladin Digimon - Warrior of Passion Seiyuu: Kenta Miyake Voice Actor: Derek Stephen Prince Info: Dynasmon is another paladin digimon, working counterpart with RhodoKnightmon. He is also a tool for Lucemon and blindly believes Lucemon will grant he and his partner their wishes to go to the human world. In the end, he is sacrificed along with RhodoKnightmon as data and power. He is a high follower of the Bushido Honor Code. He also defeated EmperorGreymon without much effort until the end. | ||||||
