12. Fancy Letters - Use old magazines, catalogs, or newspapers to cut out letters and glue them to paper so that they spell your spelling words.

Scrabble - Use Scrabble, Boggle, or other letter tiles to spell out your words.

ABC, ZYX - Write your words in alphabetical (ABC) order. Then write them again in reverse ABC order!

Flashlight Writing - In a darkened room, use a flashlight to "write" your spelling words.

How Many Points is That? - Write your spelling words. Now give each letter of the word a point value - 2 points for each consonant and 3 points for each vowel. Write an addition sentence to figure out the point value for each word.

Technicolor Words - Write your words normally. Now write them again using a different color crayon, marker, pen, or highlighter for each letter.

Hey, Kool-Aid ! - Pour a small amount of dry, sweetened Kool-Aid mix onto a clean Styrofoam tray, cookie sheet, or plate. Use your finger to trace each spelling word into the Kool-Aid mix. Try using sugar-free Jello mix to eliminate the sugar rush.

Flash Cards - Make flash cards for your spelling words using index cards. Have someone quiz you by calling the words from the flash cards and having you spell the words out loud. Tape your cards to a quiet spot (like the wall beside your bed or on the wall in front of the toilet) where you have a chance to look at them frequently.

Invisible Words - Write your words using a white crayon on white paper. Now paint with watercolors (make the paint nice and watery). Your words will appear magically!

Rainbow Spelling - Write your spelling words once with pencil. Then choose three different colored crayons, markers, pens, or colored pencils to trace each word. For example, if you have red, blue, and green crayons, trace your words once with red, then again with blue, and finally with green. Voila - Rainbow Words!
