Dane placement in co-ordination with rescue

About Us:

First letter about a Dane written when I was nine.  Pictures were received and my Mom, who was five foot nothing, would not have a dog in the house larger than her.  Raised Pomeranians for about seven years and always hoped a Dane would come my way.

First two were rescued danes:  Rockbrune's Gentle Lady and Davos Prince Bougaard.  The journey began.

My first non-saved was:  Ch. Zingara's Echo of Love - "Echo" the love of my life; then her henchman - Ch. Tanglewood's Zari and my love affair with blues.

The showing was fun and nerve wracking, the obedience was fun and nerve-wracking; pet therapy is so rewarding and many, many times I leave the homes with tears in my eyes.  The dogs are very good at making a smile come to a weary face with so little to look forward to.

The Square-dancing is great fun and the tails start wagging the minute the music starts.  To my knowledge, we are the only square dancing canine group in the world.  The original square was a Dane, a pug, a cocker spaniel and a Bernese Mountain Dog.  The pug and the Dane really brought smiles to a crowd.  We mainly dance for nursing homes but we have danced at the square dance international gathering in Saint John in 2002.  A standing ovation from 3700 dancers from all over the world made all the practices and hard work worthwhile.

Breeding is limited, with a litter about every two or three years.
Perspective owners are carefully screened.   They become part of my extended family (hopefully) from then on.

Many, many thanks to Karen Saunders for allowing my to use some of her handsome boys over the years; for being my friend and putting this site together for me as I am "almost" computer illiterate.
