Jay Gatsby was shot and killed by George Wilson in his pool in his mansion in the west egg. George killed himself too and Gatsby also because tom Buchanan told him that the yellow car that hit and killed myrtle belonged to Gatsby. Since it belonged to Gatsby they assumed that Gatsby was driving the car but it was really daisy Buchanan driving at the time. Daisy is tom’s wife and myrtle is also tom’s lover. Daisy knew tom was cheating on her but she didn’t know it was myrtle who was his other lover. So daisy also began to cheat recently with Gatsby. Daisy and Gatsby had just found each other after five years.
George
suspected that his wife, Myrtle, was cheating and he decided they were going to
move, in the meantime George kept her locked in a room upstairs from their
automobile repair in the valley of ashes. So myrtle had finally escaped and ran
into the street but at the same time Gatsby’s yellow car was coming down that
street and she was instantly killed.
So
daisy is really the murderer of tom’s other lover, whom she didn’t to kill
because she didn’t even know that was tom’s other lover.
