Utada Hikaru is my all-time favourite artist.
Born on January 19, 1983, this singer/songwriter
debuted with the English album Precious under
the pseudonym CubicU at the tender age of 13.
She is born to Japanese parents, and is is fluent in both
Japanese and English as she lives flying back and forth
to Tokyo and the States. Music runs in her blood,
with her father being a well-known musical producer
and her mother once a famous Enka singer in Japan.
As of present, she has five albums under her belt;
three in Japanese (First Love, Distance, and Deep River)
and her most recent one Exodus in English, which was
released first in Japan, and later on in the US.
She is married(!) to Kiriya Kazuaki.
There is just no question to this girl's talent.
I adore her, period.
