He's wanted to act since he was five years old. He actually had to convince his parents to let him get into the acting business. He made his big break in 1999 in David Copperfield playing young David. Chris Columbus found Daniel intriguing and knew he had found his Harry the moment he saw him in David Copperfield. So, most probably know Daniel as the courageous Harry Potter from the Harry Potter movies. (Harry Potter and the Socerers Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.) Other than the Potter movies, Daniel can also be seen in "The Tailor of Panama" alongside Jamie Lee Curtis. Ever since the hit Harry Potter movies came out, he's become an international celebrity. When asked how he felt about the teenage girls chanting "Daniel! Daniel!" at the opening of "The Chamber of Secrets", Daniel replied, "It's strange, but exciting!"
