Here we make pottery the old fashioned way.
Each piece of pottery in this shop was either hand-turned
on a potter's wheel or hand-formed from slabs or coils right
here in our studio. Before you purchase pottery
somewhere else, ask if it was hand-made on the premises.
ABOUT OUR POTTER:
Craig Kovack is our only full-time potter.
Nearly every pot in this shop was hand-turned by him.
His initials appear on the bottom of each of his pots.
Craig has been turning pottery since 1976
and turning production pottery professionally since 1984.
This is not just a hobby, but his life's work.
Any part-time potters that we hire to help fill our shelves have
their initials carved on the bottom of each pot they've turned.
ABOUT OUR ARTIST:
Each pot in this shop baring a decoration was hand-painted and initialed
by Michelle Kovack using brushwork, sliptrail, sgraffito, and spongework.
No decals of any kind are used on our pottery.
Michelle has been painting pottery since 1987.
Some ornaments were painted by other artists and bare their initials.
