Hi everyone!! Figure that all you people here know about the FY novels if you've come here!!Anywayz, for you who dunno what all this is about, I'll explain it all to you.
All the novels (there are 8 out)are based on the characters of Fushigi Yuugi.
Most of them (except for the two Eikou Den novels, anywayz)are based upon the characters' pasts, which then lead up to a point in the manga. Anywayz, let's get started!!

Genrou Den
The first novel in the FY Gaiden series, it is focused on Tasuki, and tells the story of how he became a bandit, and how he got his tessen. It also talks about the (kinda) rivalry between Saihitei (that's Hotohori!!) and his older brother Ougi. I haven't finished reading it yet, so well, you'll have to bear with me for a while....hm....I've got to dig up that link to Tasuki no Miko's page which has some translations on this...For now tho, you can enjoy this pic here that I've got of the front cover!!

I've put some pix of the novel covers up here. I probably won't bother to go and scan pix that are in the novel, so you'll have to go and find some at this page, which also has information about the novels. Tetris no Miko has some summaries about the novels on her site too (I'll put the link up over here, as soon as I can rember it!!!). Suzaku Hi Den
The fifth novel in the FY Gaiden series. It focuses on Hotohori's past, and also talks about the time period when the seishi are away from the palace. Throughout the whole novel, there are 'letters' from Houki to Nuriko, after Miaka shows up, the story line's basically the same as what you read in the manga, only that its in Houki's and Nuriko's point of views. (fyi, they're really good friends, and they befriended each other). Nuriko tells Houki about all the stuff that's happening to them, right up till Nuriko's death, and then after that, Hotohori's death. There's also a hint about Hotohori finding out that he has a brother that he does not know about, until his mother tells her on her death -bed. You also get some insight on how Houki got into Hotohori's harem.

Seiran Den
The sixth novel in the FY Gaiden series. It focuses on (mostly) Nakago's past, as well as Soi's and Tomo's pasts. You'd think that Nakago is just a d*mned a**hole, coz of the way he treats all the people around him, but I guess that you have to take a look at his childhood, to be able to know what actually made him turn into what he is today, and let me tell you, it is *not* a pretty picture.
