| As I watched them walk around the track I couldn't keep the tears from flowing down my face. Oh what I wouldn't give to see you walk no matter what the pace. To see you walk that survivors walk and carry your chain of paper links. To clap my hands as you walked by and wait for our arms to link. I guess I never quite believed that some day you wouldn't be here. And that the sights I seen tonight we wouldn't be able to share. The sight of all the survivors as they made the very first lap. The sight of all the loved ones who lined the path and clapped. The sight of all the bags glowing in the dark. That gave a magical feeling to an evening in the park. The sight of the full moon shinning brightly in the sky. It lit our way and gave us hope... No one else would have to die. |
