About my Vietnamese school

This is not just a Vietnamese school, this is also an organization for Vietnamese Buddhist.  There are many school like this all over the U.S., but ours is located at Hayward and is called Chanh Tam.  Saying Vietnamese but anyone is welcome.  Here, many good teachers volunteer to teach students like me Vietnamese, and Buddha teaching, which teach you how to become a better person in life.

The schedule is every Sunday at 1:00 unless directed that there's no school on that Sunday.  There we divided into 4 big groups so it would be easier to organize.  I'm in Thieu Nam, which is a group for guys from 13-17, opposite from Thieu Nam is Thieu Nu, a group for girls from 13-17. Two other groups are Oanh Vu Nam, for little boys and Oanh Vu Nu, for little girls.  In these groups, the members often play and do other activities.  Thieu Nam used to practice kung-fu but sadly, the teacher moved so we have to stop.  Now, we are practicing the lion dance, so we can go and perform at Asian places, hopefully we will gain more money, we are broke right now (unlike the Thieu Nu which have hella money, and they don't share which us either, shameful).

We have special holidays in this school, like the school's anniversary, and Buddha's birthday.  At these days, we celebrate, pray, and watch the guys, and the girls perform.  We also have a special day where we meet with other Vietnamese group and compete in sports and intelligent, we called that day Le Truyen Thong.

We have a website www.chanhtam.org but recently it is down for some reasons, so try to visit it some times, and hopefully it will up by that time.  If you are interested in attending at our school to learn some of our cultural tradition, Vietnamese, and Buddha's teaching email me at [email protected] or [email protected] or [email protected]   .  In case you are wondering, to go to our school, you will have to contribute 10 dollars a month so we have enough money to rent the school place.  It is fun so u should consider going there.
