K.O.T.R.T.'s BEACH PARTY AND ROAD RIDE! 07 April 2001
BEACH PARTYYYYY? A group of MTBikers having a Beach Party? Can they do it? You don't know K.O.T.R.T. kakis...they can do almost anything!
Yeahhhhh! We had a Beach party on April 7 2001. Not just a Beach Party, we had a GREAT BEACH PARTY! First, let's talk about the party.
We had a good turnout, ST, Azmi, Sup, Derek, Gilbert, Gerard, William, Alan, Annuar, Fatt, Er Chin, Su Aun (Yeah, the Super-fit lady), Richard, Andy, Lawlee, Richie, Gary (yeahh, the one with the cast on his leg), Annuar's son (I always can't remember his name) and of course the Nuikar of the year- ME!
Most of us brought our family to the beach party. They had a great time!
We had the best food that nite. We had Spaghetti and Meatballs from ST, which we crossed with Derek/Su Aun's Udang Galah Tom yam. Very tasty indeed. We had Beehoon (very superbly cooked by Annuar's Missus). Other food was Kari pap, Sup's famous Satay (my son packed a handful in his T-shirt to take home), and fruits. The drinks (softies) were free flowing. Annuar, William and Er Chin entertained the crowd with their guitar, accompanied by the howling of Alan's, Gary's ST's and me. It was fun!!!!! You guys are the greatest!!!
Now, let's talk about the ride! Jubilee Beach -Titi Kerawang!
I did not plan to ride that day, wanted to spend the day with my family konon, but after some shooting down by other riders, I fixed my bike and decided to join them (snicker). I started late and only caught with the slower group at the Dam. However only Lawlee and me managaed to ride together. The other's always seemed to have taken rocket fuel and was nowhere to be seen. The ride to Titi Kerawang was mostly uphill climb (to Su Aun, this is not a climb, but upwards slope as she said, "Climb? What climb?"). I had to manage the slope using 2-6,5,4,3, combinations. I was wondering where the others were and how long I had to endure the sufferings.
Then, after negotiating a slight downhill, and after a few bends, I saw the rest, smiling devilishly at me when they saw me approaching. I took a minute of rest and we headed back to the beach. ST told me not to worry, as it is all downhill on the way back. Downhill? How come there is a downhill if there is no climb initially? Now you know what the KOTRTs are made off, Chromoly Steel of the hardest and best quality. They call "climbs", slopes.
Su Aun overtook me on the only climb on the way back. After the climb, we raced downhill. The "made of steel nerves" riders like Annuar's son, ST, Alan, Richard and Andy overtook me on the DH. I tried my best to chase them, but being an old guy at 41 yrs, decided to hold back and let the "youngsters" go ahead. I decide to take the duel to Gerard and Lawlee.
Derek and the iron lady Su Aun was way behind. It was a fun ride. I like the route and wish to do it again.
Overall, that was one of the best outing in its own class we ever had, Sg. Sedim is different. I had a good time, so did my kids and my wife, thanks to Su Aun and Zah, Annuar's missus. Thank you KOTRTs and your family for the good time we had. Eeerrr, when's the next one?
