When Luanne is caught stealing beauty product from the salon where she works, she is forced to guide a stuck-up 19-year old named Chloe through beauty academy in order to keep her job. But when Luanne discovers that Chloe is her boss, Mary’s, daughter, she is unable to get the job done. Meanwhile, Bobby and Connie go on their first date, but it turns into a disaster when Kahn and Minh show up to spy on them.

“Insane in the Propane”

After getting suspended from the army base, Bill gets a job at Hill & Son, working for Hank and Bobby. A week later, Bobby discovers that Bill has been stealing their propane supply and fires him. Bill begs for his job back, claiming he desperately needs the propane for his illegitimate son, Tom, who is a result of a secret affair he had in Dallas 13 years ago. Feeling sorry for Bill, Bobby decides to get him a job at Strickland instead.

“Breaking Up is Hard on You”

Hank is getting sick of Bobby showing up late for work and enlists the help of Peggy to teach him a lesson. However, Hank is overcome with guilt afterwards when he discovers that he has inadvertently caused Bobby and Connie to break up as a result of never spending any time with each other. Meanwhile, Luanne is horrified to learn of the relationship between her ex-boyfriend George and her boss at the Arlen beauty salon.

Hank and Bobby are in need of a new propane salesman and decide to hire Harry, an eccentric eighteen year old who later drives Hank crazy. But when Harry starts selling more propane than any other customer, Hank begins to like him, but is horrified when he learns of the secret behind Harry’s success – pot. Hank has no choice but to fire Harry, but can’t bring himself to do it when he sells the most expensive item in store.

Bobby gets a night job as a prop comic at the Arlen Comedy Club, worrying Hank that this will spell the end of the propane business. Connie is annoyed when Bobby starts spending more time with his new comedian friends than with her, and teams up with Hank to get him back. Meanwhile, Luanne is horrified when Mary, who has recently broken up with George, starts to flirt with her and ends up avoiding going to work.

“I Drink, Therefore I Am”

Hank tries to find a spokesperson to replace Luanne, and ends up hiring Chuck Mangione, who has recently been fired from the Mega Lo Mart. Hank later discovers the reasons behind the Mega Lo Mart’s actions when he learns that Chuck has developed a drinking problem, but is unable to fire him until he overcomes it. Meanwhile, Luanne enlists the help of Bobby to get her grieving boss Mary and George back together.

“The Last of the Summer Propane”

Hank is encouraged to run for Arlen governor on his discovery that the current governor has cut off the town’s supply of propane after a pay-off from Thatherton. Bobby becomes Hank’s campaign manager, but as Hank tries to better the town, he loses focus on what it is actually all about – propane. Meanwhile, Peggy befriends Mary at the beauty salon but is vexed to find that she is considering firing Luanne for her bad work.

Bobby is introduced to Kahn and Minh “officially” at a traditional Souphanousinphone dinner. But when Bobby is unable to make a good impression, he offers Kahn the position of CEO at Hill & Son instead. Kahn happily accepts, but Hank’s reaction is far worse than Bobby expected. Bobby must now fire Kahn, but worries that, a as a result of this, he will never be accepted into the Souphanousinphones and can’t date Connie.

“How Peggy Got Her Groove Back”

Peggy decides to go to a Thanksgiving Boggle convention instead of cooking the traditional dinner, but after losing several games in a row she worries that she has lost her groove, and enlists the help of Hank to get it back. But Peggy is jealous upon realising that Hank has become a master at the game in the short time he has been at the convention, and the two end up battling for the title of “Grand Boggle Champion”.

When Nancy unexpectantly goes missing, Dale mistakenly thinks that she has been abducted by aliens, and fearing that the residents of Arlen will be next, he enlists the help of Bill and Boomhauer to track down the supposedly hidden mother ship. Meanwhile, Hank and Peggy both know that Nancy has reconciled with her old flame, John Redcorn, and end up fighting for hours about whether they should tell Dale or not.

“Snow Doubt About It”

Bobby and Connie decide to go to Colorado for Christmas, but are furious when Kahn and Minh tag along. When Connie begins to show signs of pregnancy, Bobby desperately tries to hide this from her parents, unaware that she is only suffering an allergic reaction from some food she ate on the plane. Meanwhile, Hank and Peggy are spending their first Christmas without Bobby and begin to feel lonely without him.

“Lawn and Order”

According to “Cooking Utensils Monthly”, propane is out this month, making Hank worry about lack of business. In desperation, he sells the propane to Strickland and decides to start selling lawnmowers instead. But when Strickland starts to get more business than ever, Hank realises what a mistake he has made and desperately tries to get the propane supply back before it is all sold, enlisting the help of Bobby.

“Wooing With the Wiz”

Bill tries to help his illegitimate son, Tom, woo a girl he likes at Tom Landry Middle School, but realising he has never been good with woman, Bill asks a reluctant Bobby to take his place. After many failed attempts, Bobby and Tom return home, where Tom meets Connie for the first time. Tom later confesses that he has a crush on Connie, and Bobby, being incredibly paranoid, worries that they will later get together.

“Sale to the Chief”

Dooley has returned from re-hab, and gets a job at the newly re-opened Thatherton Fuels. Hank, discovering that the business has skyrocketed ever since Dooley’s return, wants him to work for Hill & Son again. Hank and MF then engage in a bidding war, both determined to get Dooley for their businesses. Meanwhile, Luanne is overcome with guilt when she inadvertently dyes Mary’s hair green, and is too scared to tell her.

“Termites of Endearment”

After Hill & Son unexpectantly becomes overrun with termites, Hank reluctantly hires Dale for extermination. But, after a “near-death” experience, Dale becomes deadly afraid of bugs and refuses to go near them. Hank desperately tries to get Dale back to killing bugs before the upcoming inspection. Meanwhile, Luanne enlists the help of Peggy to get good evaluations from her frequent customers at the Arlen beauty salon.

“A Chat Room With a View”

Bobby is encouraged to design a website for Hill & Son, and is delighted when business improves. Discovering the power of the internet, Bobby joins a chat room and talks to Tammy, whom he shares a lot in common with. Bobby begins to wonder if Tammy is the right woman for him and considers breaking up with Connie, but when he learns that Joan has been playing a trick on him, he sets out to take revenge on her.

Bobby is invited to Chane Wasonasong’s bachelor party across town, and Hank is concerned about a stripper being there. Bobby later discovers that the stripper that has been hired is none other than his ex-girlfriend Marie. Horrified, Bobby becomes determined to help Marie make something more of her life. Meanwhile, Peggy tries to stop Hank from intruding in Chane’s bachelor party, but it is a seemingly difficult task.

Hank is horrified when Bobby becomes the spokesperson for a new line of Fruit Pies, worrying about the business more so than anything else. When Bobby starts to gain weight from the endless free supply he is receiving, he decides to go on a diet and enlists the help of a “professional” trainer – Peggy. Dale, meanwhile, is convinced that the Fruit Pie company is hypnotizing Bobby and becomes determined to prove it.

“Smokey and the Bobby”

Bobby is horrified to catch Hank smoking whilst working late at Hill & Son, and Hank reveals he never stopped after supposedly quitting 13 years ago. Furious, Bobby throws Hank’s collection of cigarettes in the dumpster, only to realise the following morning that the building has erupted into flames. Believing it to be his fault, Hank decides to quit smoking for good, but Bobby is having trouble concealing his guilt afterwards.

“Perfect Water”

Hank is furious when he discovers that Peggy has added a pond to the front lawn and becomes determined to get rid of it before anybody sees it. But Peggy is convinced that there is another reason behind Hank’s odd behaviour, and after looking into the allegations she believes that his childhood has made him afraid of water. Peggy takes it upon herself to help Hank overcome his fear, but finds it harder than she thought.

“Hank Goes Commercial”

Hank rounds up some Arlen “celebrities”, including Nancy Gribble and the “Manger Babies” stars to film a commercial for Hill & Son’s one year anniversary celebration sale. But after many unsuccessful attempts to get what he wants, Hank steps out of the director’s chair, leaving Bobby to take his place. Hank then begins to miss working for Strickland Propane, worrying Peggy that he is considering quitting the business.

“Dawn of the Didi”

Hank and Peggy are horrified when Didi shows up at the house, but they later discover her reasons for coming – Cotton has died. Whilst Hank struggles with the knowledge that the father he was never close to has passed away, Peggy finds herself being forced to comfort an overbearing Didi. Meanwhile, Bobby is forced to cancel plans with Connie for the funeral, but Connie mistakenly thinks he is having an affair with someone. 1
