WHO AM I?

Let's see.  I'm a woman in my early thirties and I love wrestling.  My names Kat but if you visit any of the wrestlefic boards or groups I usually go by Katgirl.  Sometimes I forget and use Kat but I try not to do that because I've noticed there's another Kat out there.

A lot of people ask me, how can I watch wrestling and I finally came up with a standard answer that shuts up most people.  The conversation usually goes something like this.

Close-minded, ignorant person: "how can you watch that stuff?  You know it's *fake* right?"

Kat (rolls eyes): "long haired, half naked, sweaty, muscular men.  Shall I go on?"

Close-minded ignorant person usually walks away shaking their head without further comment.

I'm proud to be a WWF fan, I just don't think I should be forced to defend my preferred form of entertainment.  I mean I absolutely don't get the appeal of 'Survivor' but I don't go around asking other people how they can watch it.

Enough said about that.

Some of my favorite wrestlers are, Kane, Undertaker, HHH, and Test, but when pressed to name one favorite, my loyalty belongs to Xpac.  I believe he's one of the most under rated superstars.  Not a popular opinion, I know, but hey it's my site, my opinion.  I am, always have been, and always will be a devoted Xpac supporter, which is evident in some of my stories and some of my rants.  Again, my site, my opinion.

Many people ask me how I started watching wrestling so here's the story.

My boyfriend used to watch WWF and truthfully I didn't pay much attention.  Then one night about two and half years ago as he was watching, I looked up from the book I was reading and something caught my attention.  It was a beautiful muscular man with long blond hair, in the ring, asking an innocent looking brunette out on a date.  Confused, I asked said boyfriend what was going on, as it didn't look like my preconceived notions of wrestling, of two grown men pretending to beat the hell out of each other.  He proceeded to explain that the blond man was Test and the girl was Stephanie, the owner's daughter.  I have to admit I was intrigued, but not yet hooked.  Nonetheless, I had to watch the next show and find out how the date went.  Right?  As I'm following the Test/Stephanie saga another pair worms their way into my heart.  Who you ask?  The Kane/Xpac tag team.  I listened to JR tell the story of how everyone had betrayed poor tortured Kane and how Xpac had befriended 'The Big Red Machine' and gained his trust.  It warmed my heart and I fell in love with both men.  That was it.  I was hooked.  So it wasn't Austin, The Rock, or even the Undertaker, who I now love, that drew me to wrestling, it was Test/Stephanie and Kane/Xpac.  Now, over two years later, the aforementioned boyfriend is long gone, but my love for wrestling remains.

I know you're asking o.k. you're a wrestling fan, but how did you start writing slashfic. (Maybe you're not asking that, but here it is anyway).  On my way to becoming the obsessed, devoted WWF fan that I am today, I started surfing the internet wrestling sites.  This eventually led me to the fanfic sites.  I started reading and enjoying the fanfic I found, although I still hadn't stumbled upon slash.  Then one day, heedless of the warnings in the header, I started reading a story about Xpac, who was despondent over an unrequited love.  I admit, I was shocked when it was revealed that the object of his desire was HHH and I promptly hit the back button on my browser.  But alas, much like a curious gawker at a car wreck, I was compelled to find out what happened.  I went back and finished reading the story and found I actually enjoyed it.  So much so I had to read more.  I started seeking out slashfic specifically and today, for the most part, slashfic is all I read.  Anyway, after reading wrestling slash, as most of you probably know or you wouldn't be at this site, watching wrestling takes on a whole new significance.  I started to get these whisperings in my ear from my newly discovered muses.  From them my stories are born.

I'm still new to writing fanfic and I am not a professional writer, nor do I have any delusions that I could be a professional writer.  I'm simply a WWF fan and this is a way for me to express my love and appreciation of the men who put their bodies on the line night after night to entertain us.  If you read my stuff and you get some enjoyment from it, great, and if not, well. *shrug* that's o.k. too.  Everyone has a different style of writing, and favorite muses, and mine may not be your thing.

So, come on in, poke around, sign my guestbook, or drop me an email.  I'd love to know what you think of my stories as well as the site design as this is my first attempt at creating a web site.

Enjoy your visit.
