Jutte-jutsu ~ pronged truncheon art (page 2)

Transmission of juttejutsu is found in both modern taihojutsu and a limited number of ko-budo. As a generalization, juttejutsu can be found taught along with its sister tactics of arresting cord (hojo/ torinawaߓ, hobakuߔ). Perhaps due to the weight of responsibility in deciding to arrest an individual to be tried by the periodfs penal system, juttejutsu and torinawa were most frequently taught only to licensees, rather than all students of a ko-budo which taught the arts.

Modern taihojutsu (ߕߏppolice arresting art) was influenced by the juttejutsu of the Ikkaku-Ryu school as introduced by T. Shimizu of the Shindo Muso Ryu. Other existing juttejutsu is practiced by a few martial artists of the Takenouchi Ryu, Yagyu Shingan Ryu, Edomachikata Juttejutsu, Shibukawa Ryu, Kiraku Ryu and others.
