Basic History
FORMING KoЯn: Korn Started at around 1993 and at first it was really just the quartet; Munky, Head, Fieldy, and David. They actually had a previous band called L.A.P.D.
and made an album with obviously a different singer than Jonathan Davis and they sounded a lot funkier then after Jonathan even set foot in the band. One day Munky and Head were at a club and as they
were about to leave, they heard this band called SexArt, in which Ryan Shuck (guitarist of Orgy) was also in, and they were blown away when hearing the vocals of the singer. That singer turned out to be Jonathan
Davis. After the whole performance of SexArt, Jonathan was asked to join the band. He wasn't sure, so he went to a psychic and the psychic said 'You'd be a fool not to join this band.' So he did and korn happened!
THE NAME KoЯn: Before korn, they were called 'creep,' that seemed a little out of the taste of the band so they didn't make it official, although did have a couple shows with that name.
Korn have only admitted the actual story a couple times because of the sick reality. I actually found a radio interview that has the real deal from Jon's words. Click here to listen.
Unique Nicknames
'Fieldy' said on the Korn DVD (Deuce): "When I was younger, I had these fucking chipmunk cheeks, right... so they called me 'Gopher', and then it became 'Garf'. Then they started callin' me 'Garfield'. Then it became 'Fieldy'."
'Munky' also according to Deuce, when he spread his toes, him and the rest of the band members thought it made his feet look like monkey feet.
