Known as the God of Death (Shinigami), Duo lives up to his title as a fighter, but when relaxing as much as a Gundam pilot can, he wears a mask of happiness. Careless and funloving, Duo's past is anything but joyful. After his parents were killed, he was taken to the Maxwell Church after scrounging and stealing for food and getting caught. There, one of the nuns offered to cut his hair, but being his only bit of his past, he declined and fought for his locks, so instead, the nun braided his hair.
Eventually, the war came to his colony and destroyed his church, killing the priest and nun he loved so dearly. After seeing his two families die, he picked up the nickname "Shinigami," God of Death.
Later, Duo meets Professor G and is given the Deathscythe Gundam, which is later destroyed by OZ as an example. The successor, Deathscythe Hell, became the upgrade after this destruction.
