Keep on Runnin'

Hello,

I'm really excited about my first 10K next week.  I ran another 5K this morning.  It took me 34:41 which is not bad considering the first 1/2 was up-hill.  I also got a leg cramp and had to push through.

I met a cool running mate, though.  Her name is Tracey, and she is a teacher who just moved to Las Vegas.  We ran the first mile together, then I let her go on her way.  She is going to be at the Turkey Trot 10K next week, and will probably be at the 6 Tunnels 1/2 Marathon next St. Patricks day.  It will be neat to run with her again.  The time does seem to go faster that way.  I'll have to work on keeping up with her. :)

Aspen played on the playground at the park.  She is saving her energy for the Junior Olympic 3K tomorrow morning. Wish her luck! GOOO ASPEN!!!  You'll do great!!!

Can't wait to see the family for Thanksgiving!!  My sister is going to drive to Vegas to pick us up and we'll take her car to UT (Thank goodness...I'm not sure if the van will make it again).  This trip will be mostly family oriented.  I'll be taking the week off between Christmas and New Years and be in UT for most of that.  I will definitely have more time to visit friends on that trip.  If you don't see me this month...we'll arrange something definite for December.  Hey, maybe I'll have my new car by then.

Also, I am excited to announce that I am an official college student again! The school took all of the credits from the U except for the math.  But, I've been placed in the college level math class anyway.  I've got most of my general education credits taken care of except a few english/literature courses and a Nevada history class.  Oh, and one perk is...once I register for my classes in two weeks, I can start using the schools gym facilities for free.  That's great, especially since a gym membership is out of my budget right now.

Well...have a great day everyone.  I'll let you know how my race goes next week.
