We asked Holt to arrange a visit for Gabe with his former foster family, and to our surprise, they showed up at the first visit with Elleigh, to see both Gabe and Elleigh. They said they would have recognized Gabe in a crowd - he was a little more hesitant, although we had looked at enough pictures of them that he wasn't scared. As an added bonus, Holt helped arrange for a second, longer meeting with the foster mom, at the guesthouse, with a wonderful Korean-American translator. We got to talk for about 1.5 hours, and it was wonderful. She gave us many blessings and was so thrilled to see Gabe growing up. She was also excited to see that he could still wear the first-birthday hanbok that she had made for her son, 20 years ago, and which she gave to Gabe 2 years ago. This family has truly become a third set of grandparents for Gabe! |
