Korean Battlefield Tours
The 50th Anniversary of any war is a highly meaningful time for any Veteran; no longer a young man or woman, there is often a desire, or even a need, to return to the place of battle to achieve some sense of peace with the past.

The 1991 - 1995 Commemoration of World War II was a very large event, as befits this major conflict.  During this period, many American Veterans returned to the countries of Europe.

In 2000, we discovered that Korean War Veterans, like their WWII counterparts, were likewise anxious to revisit their own battlefields.  What was very different, however, is that - unlike many WWII Vets - almost no Korean War Veterans had been back to the area since the end of the War.  Also, unlike Europe, Korea is not well known to Westerners, and there is little in the way of travel infrastructure to help returning Americans.  The result was that there has been a fair amount of frustration on the part of Veterans wanting to return to Korea - some Vets, trying to return to Korea on their own, discovered that the cultural and linguistic barriers, along with the fact that the Roman alphabet is not used in Korea, made it almost impossible to get around the country.

Accordingly, the Korea National Tourism Organization, the Korean Government Agency responsible for regulating and promoting tourism in Korea, along with California Pacific Tours, an American tour operator specializing in Korea, have arranged a series of specialized tour programs for those interested in touring Korean War battlesites, as well as learning about and experiencing the country of Korea.
