Beyond - The Last of Tributes

After 22 years of mesmerizing millions of fan with their rock ballads, Beyond is calling it a day.

I first heard their music 12 years ago. I was moved by their mandarin songs like "Guang Hui Sui Ye", "Da Di" & "Chang Cheng". It rocked as it was moving.

Then in 1993, the iconic lead singer, Wong Ka Kui died after he plunged 3 m from a stage in a live gameshow in Japan. It was shocking to all Beyond Fans and many were reduced to tears. Oh, how I remember that day. It was the darkest day to the fans of Beyond. Millions had lost their idol and Beyond somehow lost its soul afterwards, did not inspire as much as before.

After some time, I forgot about Beyond. It was mainly due to I do not understand cantonese and the Hong Kong Rock Band produced few mandarin songs that would have had made me their follower eternally.

At Beyond's farewell concert on 15 Oct 05 in Singapore, I was reminded of their charm once again. Beyond sang, rocked and wooed the Singapore Fans and bade farewell for the last time. Oh, how the Beyond Fans moaned for more and the end. I rejoined Beyond's leigion of fans around the world and paid tribute to Beyond at their last concert in Singapore.

Thank you Beyond, for all the moving songs and you were a part of our life in the last 22 years. I sincerely wish the band members all the best in their future endeavours and I would remember Beyond forever.
