His father had always wanted the best for his only child and spent most of his money on putting Veylon through the best schools that Romulus had to offer. Through out the first part of his life, Veylon was very happy and content, cared for by his parents and with a brilliant future before him, Veylon seemed to have it all. After a placement test, Veylon came home to find that his parents had died in a farming accident. Devistated by the news, Veylon was taken in by a Tal'Shiar representative and moved to Ra'tleihfi, the Romulan capitol. Veylon is trained on all of the inner workings of the Tal'Shiar and raised to become one of the leading operatives within the organization. At an early age, Veylon has completed several missions successfully, and the Tal'Shiar commanders are very excited with his progress. Veylon climbs up within the organization and completes each mission with deadly accuracy, until he is faced with a major moral delima. For the first time in his career, Veylon is asked to kill hundereds of innocent Federation colonists. In a maneuver that leaves the Tal'shiar commanders head spinning, Veylon exposes the Tal'Shiar to the Federation and at the same time defects. After several assassination attempts and years of debriefing, Veylon decides to join Star Fleet. Veylon struggles through the Academy and eventually graduates at the bottom of his class. All the years of Tal'Shiar training had taken its toll on him. It wasn't that he was dumb or unable to learn, it was the mere fact that all of his Tal'Shiar training had been so engrained into his being that he had trouble controlling his natural reflexes. Regardless, Veylon has graduated and now awaits his first Federation posting. PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE Likes: Reading. At the core of Veylon's soul is the need to learn and understand, this is accomplished through hours upon hours of intensive reading. Veylon enjoys being aloof and secretive. Quote: "Without secrets, what is there to life?" Demolitions, poisons, and weapons, are all areas that Veylon enjoys. Sunsets. Medical studies. Apple Pie. Children. Fictional Stories, Myths and legends of the various races. Romulan Ale. Dislikes: Replicated food. Heights. The death of an innocent person. Music. Holodecks. Messy people. Loud, and out going people. Not being armed at all times. Being forced to answer a question with a simple yes or no. Unorganized people. Special Abilities: Mind Block: This skill is taught to all operatives of the Tal'Shiar in order protect its secrets. This skill also not only effects people with mental powers, but is also effective against the extraction of memories through artificial means. Weaknesses: Fear of Heights. Not adverse to killing as long as it can be justified and does not involve innocents or civilians. Can not resist a puzzle. Holds many of the Federation regulations with disdain. Often breaks protocols by carrying a concealed weapon. Will not allow the death of a child or anyone considered to be an innocent, even if this means that he looses his life or his career. A data-transceiver was inserted into his brain by the Tal'Shiar, this device has been altered and now may only be accessed by the Federation and specifically only by persons of the rank of Captain or above. The device forces Veylon to correctly and directly answer any questions asked of him. Veylon suffers from flash backs, and insomnia. PERSONALITY Veylon's personality is hard to nail down. In his years of training with the Tal'Shiar he has learned to hide his true feelings very well. Although one thing can be said for him, he is a very secretive person. Much of what he does and says is well thought out, if he is forced to think on the fly, it is done so with the appearance of having been well thought out. Veylon is also very organized and structured, sometimes even to a fault. Before Veylon would have spoken to you, he would have researched every thing about you. If at all possible, he may have even contacted people within your family and passed himself off as someone else, in order to learn more about you. While, Veylon can appear to be relaxed and friendly, he is rarely off guard. This may make him seem jumpy, or on the edge. 1
