The Type M1 Sphinx workpod is a simple one man craft. It looks similar to the small undersea exploration subs, the many arms and tools articulated for maximum convenience. With an open cockpit, the worker using the pod must wear an environmental suit in order to pilot the craft. They are usually yellow in color.
Sphinx workpods are generally used by a ship for quick, necessary repairs when they are too far from a repair base. Generally used by the Engineering crew, they are kept in the lower shuttle decks and are constantly on call. They have a short start up sequence that enables them to reach the damaged area of the ship quickly.
