Shuttle craft are small, short-range spacecraft, intended primarily for transport from a deep-space vessel to a planet's surface, or for travel within a solar system. These shuttles are capable of planetary landing and takeoff. Shuttles can be equipped with two Type IV or Type V phaser emitters, and their impulse engines can be upgraded to microfusion impulse thrusters. They are capable of low warp which is sustainable for short periods of time, though upgrades enable them to travel at higher speeds.
