)Shortly after Diana entered public school, her mother's only sibling and his family were sucked into a wormhole, lost forever. No one ever knew what happened to them. This cause Diana's mother to become very close to her parents and almost alienating the rest of her family.
Diana was a sociable child in public school. She was always ready with a smile and made many friends. She also excelled in her work.
Her love for math followed her through school and she graduated from public school as the Salutatorian. She would have made Validictorian except for a small incident involving the school's computer system. Diana accidently programmed a virus into the system and wiped out the records for the year. She became known as "Hacker" and the name stuck as she could always be found on a computer.
She continued her part-time job through vocational school. She worked as a secretary for Luaxana Troi up until she applied to the Academy. It was Luaxana's elaborate stories about her great daughter in Starfleet, Deanna, that inspired Diana to join.
While in vocational school, Diana's immense skills in mathematics and her love for computers came out in all her projects. She specialized in Engineering and was known for her various creations around campus.
Just before graduation, Diana applied to Starfleet Academy and was immediately accepted. Shortly after graduation, she headed for Earth to begin her studies.
During her time in Starfleet Academy, her brother, Jase, got married. Her parents didn't want him to, and neither did Nancia's parents, for that matter. Jase left the family and soon, the family began fighting. Diana was unaware of the home situation and continued in her studies at Starfleet to graduate with degrees in the following:
Her hard work and dedication paid off and she was soon promoted to Lieutenant Junior Grade. As things began happening around Federation space with Borg and various other history making events, transfers hit everyone. Diana was transferred to Utopia Planitia Shipyards on Mars, the birth place of the USS Enterprise, NCC 1701-D.
A short time later, Nancia's ship was attacked by the Borg and Jase was assimilated. The family had heard nothing from him and was crushed by not having the chance to make up with him. They sent messages to Nancia in condolences, but she never responded, still bitter from how they had treated the two of them. So, the family turned to each other and knitted tighter than ever.
Again, Diana excelled in her work and was promoted to Lieutenant. Soon, the shipbuilding died down at Utopia Planitia and Starfleet began transferring people out. Diana was then assigned as Chief Engineer at Starbase Siferra.
On Siferra, Diana made many friendships and even had a chance to meet Deanna Troi, the woman her former boss had talked so much about. One of the major things that Diana loved about Siferra was the USS Cathexis. A new starship design, the Cathexis was assigned to the Siferra as an experimental ship to be finished and tested. Having worked at Utopia Planetia for so long, Diana found herself in her element. She soon began dedicating long hours towards the completion of the Cathexis in order that she may space worthy soon enough for Diana to test it.
Also on Siferra, Diana found Myran Lewis, a tactical officer. Myran was a quiet man that often stuck to himself, but, when with Diana, opened up from his shell and was very comfortable with her. Diana found him charming and to be a good conversationalist. She enjoyed the smiles that only she got and soon found herself falling for the mysterious man that wore sunglasses.
However, that was not meant to be. Soon, the Dominion came through the wormhole in the Alpha Quadrant. The Federation abandoned the Starbase Siferra project, saying that it wasn't a suitable project to continue during wartime. Diana was moved back to Utopia Planetia as head of Research & Development. The job was a ton of paperwork and the only highlight of her time there was her promotion to Lieutenant Commander. She and Myran were both devestated by the move and tried desperately to keep in touch. Unfortunately, Diana was never one for long distance relationships and the relationship faded as the distance between them grew.
Diana was moved once more to a secret mission with Starfleet Intelligence on the USS Circe. The actual mission is a secret, but Diana is slight perturbed that she isn't Chief Engineer. She has never worked with Starfleet Intelligence before and finds them not to be trustworthy. She constantly has to remind herself why she took the mission in the first place.
With her mission on the Circe came another surprise. Diana was reunited with Myran on the Circe, Myran as the XO. Things quickly began to heat up once more.
