Personal History:
Jaylene was born and raised on Terrach in the traditional Terrachian form. She attended school and, like her sister before her, quickly accelerated to graduate early. She entered Starfleet Academy after seeing her sister graduate with honors. She graduated top of the class with degrees in the following:
- Major:
- Standard Operations
- Weapons Systems
- Astrophysics
- Advanced Telepathy
- Psychology
- Minor:
- Basic Medical Techniques
- Sociology
- Basic Engineering
- Basic Shuttlecraft Operations
After graduation, Jaylene was assigned to . She then returned to Terrach on leave. Her sister returned home as well.
During their time home, Tal Shiar Operatives attacked the planet in various villages and towns. Jaylene was the luckiest of the group she was with. She managed to get away before harm came to her.
Before anyone completely recovered, Jaylene and her family relocated to San Francisco on Earth to escape the Tal Shiar. Her sister recovered from the rape, but they never heard from their friends again.
After almost a year, Jaylene was assigned to Outpost 77 as Assistant Operations Officer. She helped in diverting a Romulan attack, as well as running the repairs in Ops during the Chief's absense. It was shortly after that Jaylene met the Q, which she had not known of before. The particular Q that she had met continues to taunt her with various things.
Jaylene is a fighter. During her time in San Francisco, she had started taking Karate classes. She would have used this skill in the Maquis attempt to take over the Outpost, but one of them managed to hit her with a blast from a phaser rifle. Luckily, there was no serious harm and Jaylene completely and quickly recovered.
Jaylene also works hard in trying to figure things out. A computer failure at the Outpost was cause for great concern when the Commander of the time became trapped with her ward in the holodeck. It was the work of Jaylene and a fellow Operations Officer that freed the Commander.
The Chief Operations Officer had been presumably killed in the Maquis attack and, after some deliberation, the Commander chose Jaylene because of her hard work and effort in helping the Outpost.
The Chief Science Officer of the time presented the Commander with an idea to build a science center off the Outpost mainly to house a hydroponics bay. The Commander expressed a latent interest and the project had been postponed. An explosion in one of the Science labs on the Outpost caused some serious concerns for safety of the civilian residents and the lab was soon called for to be built. Jaylene, as Chief of Operations, was asked to head the project, but it was delayed due to a huge find of natural trilithium (extremely rare) at the first chosen site. The site was moved and work continued.
The newest Science Officer decided to try out some experimental warp coils in the geothermal power plant of the Center. At first, these coils were blamed for the explosion that, shortly thereafter, destroyed a good portion of the still incomplete Engineering section in the Center. It was later found to be a terrorist bomb. This caused yet more delays in the project. The building was eventually finished without further mishap and without warp coils and was christened the Decon Science Center.
Shortly after the Decon Science Center was finished, a trensdimensional race of conquerors, called the Hegemony, attacked the Outpost. Jaylene had nearly lost her telepathic abilities in the attack, but only came back stronger in an effort to free the current Commander from the clutches of their leader, the Archon. With the help of a spiritual leader, Jaylene was able to attack the creature's mind, causing him to release the Commander and giving another officer the chance to physically attack. The Hegemony was successfully warded off.
The Executive Officer resigned shortly after the attack, having lost a dear friend at the Outpost and, therefore, his reason to stay. The Commander, feeling she had someone whom she could count on, promoted Jaylene to LtCdr and Executive Officer.
Since then, Jaylene has been abducted by the Bandar Sydicate with the Marine CO. The two of them were seen as a threat to the secret alliance between the Ventashi, the Romulans, and the Bandar Sydicate. With the upcoming Ventashi War, the two were planned on being either (a) abducted and questioned or (b) assassinated. Jaylene
and Maj Tinian Jeppo managed to escape and meet up with two more Marines who came to rescue them.
Outpost 77 received a new CO once more. Jaylene and the new CO built up a fast trust between each other, the CO knowing that her helped her know what to say and what not to say.
The USS Bonaventure and her motly crew of SIG employees were brought to Outpost 77 under heavy guard. The ship was confiscated and the crew put in the brig.
But, not all things stay the same. Adm McBroud shoved his nose into Outpost 77's business again and sent the latest CO off to Earth for a courtmartial hearing. The Adm took command of Outpost 77 temporarily and grated on Jaylene's normally steely nerves. Jaylene wasn't sure how much more of this she could take.
Suddenly, McBroud was relived of duty pending charges of treason and the CO of Outpost 77 returned. Things seemed to be back to normal. However, that was short lived. The Borg attacked soon after the CO returned. The Bonaventure was destroyed in the attack.
The CO, for reasons of his own, then retired and left Jaylene as Acting CO. A new Sector Head, Adm Farrell, soon arrived and Outpost 77 was made the new Sector Headquarters.
Being of Terrachian descent, Jaylene has the following abilities:
- Telepathy
- Empathy
- Telekinesis
Terrachians have a basic psi rating of 9. Jaylene herself has a current psi rating of 9.4. Telekinetic, for those who don't know, is the ability to move objects with the mind. Jaylene is currently able to move objects up to 250 lbs. This is her absolute limit and she cannot hold it for extreme amounts of time. She is also not to excede this limit.
Terrach is an independantly run government with a strong alliance in the Rihannsu Star Empire. The Tal Shiar attack mentioned above was never explained to the Terrachian government, but was quickly forgiven by the politicians, who had been left untouched by the operatives. Many believe that it's the Tal Shiar's way of trying to take over Terrach for themselves and make the people into a slave race, but this theory is rarly publicized.
