The longest lasting member of Kool & The Gang that joined after the band had formed. He was added on Everybody' Dancin' but the band had been after him for a lot longer which should give you a good idea as to his skill - immense. He was given a solo on Joanna which has never been removed from the live performances and is always highlighted. The nickname is also something I've heard on stage rather then seen written anywhere.
He has gone solo without leving the band, the only member of the band ever to do so. In the band or out listen for him - he's a professional.
Clifford means "sloped crossing",
Alanza (which isn't confimed) means "noble" and
Adams means "red earth".
