Pecan Pie Squares

BASE:

1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour

3 tbsps. granulated sugar

� cup (1 square) margarine

PECAN TOPPING:

2 eggs

� cup granulated sugar

� cup golden corn syrup

2 tbsps. margarine, melted

2 cups coarsely shopped pecans

Preheat oven to 350*F.

In a medium bowl, combine flour and sugar; cut in margarine with pastry blender until coarse crumbs are formed. Press well into the bottom of a greased 9-in. square pan. Bake in preheated oven for 15 mins. Let cool 10 mins.

In a medium bowl, whisk together eggs with sugar, corn syrup and margarine. Stir in pecans. Pour evenly over base and bake 30 to 35 mins or until set and top is golden brown. Cool completely and cut into squares.
