Conga Bars

BARS:

2¼ cups all-purpose flour

2½ tsps. baking powder

½ tsp. salt

¾ cup unsalted butter or margarine, at room temperature

1 lb. light-brown sugar

3 eggs

1 tsp. vanilla

1 cup chocolate chips

¼ cup coarsley chopped nuts, such ass walnuts or pecans

To prepare bars, heaat oven to 350*F. Lightly grease a 13x9x2-in. baking pan.

Sift together flour, baking powder and salt onto a sheet of waxed paper.

With a mixer on medium speed, beat butter and brown sugar in a large bowl until well blended. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. On low speed, gradually beat in flour mixture until blended. Beat in vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Spread mixture evenly in prepared pan.

Bake in heated 350* oven 30 to 35 mins or until a wooden pick inserted in centre of cookie comes out clean. Transfer pan to a wire rack to cool completely.

Spread Glaze evenly over bars.
