A Junior Lifeguard was off duty at Deep River Water Park and decided to invite 3 of her friends to come over and hang out.  As soon as the three teenagers got the phone call, they rushed over.  Being that their friend was a well known Junior Lifeguard, they recieved a few special privledges (like a private locker back in the "restricted area").  The four girls were all having a great time, but they all wanted to enjoy separate entertainments.  The group soon split up into 2 groups of 2.  The Junior Lifeguard and her raven haired friend went to the water slides & the blonde and brunnet went to the more relaxing lazy river & they planned to meet up in the wave pool before the next session of waves.  The two girls from the lazy river showed up at the wave pool two minutes early & decided to go over to the deep end & hang on the bars.  Soon the waves started, but there was no sign of thier friends.  They watched out for them while being pummeled with waves and intertubes, but as the waves came to a stop, there was still no sign of the Junior Lifegaurd or the raven haired girl.  They decided to get out and look for them & sure enough found them.  They were standing up on the dry land, but they were still wet.  The raven haired girl appeared quite shaken & the Junior Lifeguard began to explain.  While trying to re-enter the wave pool, the raven-haired girl was pushed under the water & came back up, but she was coughing & having a hard time recovering.  The Junior Lifeguard grabbed her hand and dragged her back through the crowds, of uncaring thrill seekers, to dry land.  Had Amanda Powers, age 14, not taken Junior Lifegaurding & not been there, we could have lost our very dear friend Marissa.
