All About Mrs. Saunders

My name is Tamara Saunders and I am excited about having the opportunity to teach your child this year.  I truly love first grade because it is a year of substantial growth both academically and socially. First grade is the best!

 I grew up in Charleston, SC with my parents and two younger sisters.  I attended Winthrop University for my undergraduate work and received my Masters Degree from Columbia College.  I have my ESOL certification and have also extended my education to Masters Plus 30.

 

I have been a teacher at Mitchell Road for the past seventeen years and have taught for a total of 22 years.  Before coming to Greenville, I taught 7^th, 8^th, and 9^th grade Remedial Math and 4^th grade in Lancaster, South Carolina.  Since I have been in Greenville, I have had the privilege of teaching 5^th grade, 3^rd grade, and 1^st grade.  My favorite level is 1^st grade because I enjoy the enthusiasm that these children have for learning. 

 

I am married to Mark Saunders, and we have 3 wonderful children.  Brad is 19 years old and is a sophomore at North Greenville University.  Andrew is a junior at Hillcrest High School and Katie is in the 7^th grade at Langston Charter Middle School.  We also have a dog named Minnie.

 

I enjoy reading, working on the computer, and spending time with my family.
