Chapter 14

Joey, Dr. Witter, what exactly is going on here? I swear Im gonna scream.  I just rest my head on Dr. Witters shoulder and take a few deep breaths.  Okay, Joey, breath. In.  Out.  In.  Out.  In.  Out.  If Im not careful, I might just do something Ill regret.  Never mind, chance gone

Bessie, is it?  You see, what happened, well, happened and, you see, we dont even know what to make out of it.  Thats why, your lovely sister invited me to your lovely B&B for a.) vacation since I am also in danger, b) so I can relax since Im an uptight doctor, c) Your sister is my last patient, and last, but not least and most importantly, d) to figure out what you just witnessed, means.  He gives her a million dollar smile along with a pleading look.  I look up at her with my innocent face.   He continues, Of course, I wasnt going to say yes until we talked to you about it first.

I swear shes going to blow her top.  Wait, I think we won.  She is ever so slowly, calming down.  She slumps her shoulders, Its alright Dr. Witter, you can come down.  Its the off season anyway so we have plenty of rooms.  Then she looks towards me.  Oh, shit.  As for you missy, we need to have a talk when we get home.  Here, Jen gave me some clothes.

She places them on the bed and begins to walk out. Thanks Bess.  She stops and turns around.  As for you Dr. Witter, I dont know what you and my are as of late, but until you figure it out, youre not to be in the same room as my sister when shes changing.  Only after you figure out what you are can you see her naked.  I cant help but blush as she said this to him.  I begin to laugh because of what she said, plus Dr. Witters blushing.  He leaves the room as if he was a scolded puppy with his tail between his legs.
**
Dr. Witter left the room while closing the door behind him.  Bessie turns around and smacks him on the chest. What, the hell, do you think you were doing in there?  Huh?  And, you know what, dont give it wasnt what it looked like, because you, yourself admitted it.  Shes breathing heavy now, trying to calm herself, but nothing seems to be working. Are you having sex?  Huh?

Whoa, Bessie, dont you think youre getting a little ahead of yourself there?  I mean, we kissed, pure and simple.  Nothing more, nothing less.  I can guarantee you that.  Will, we have sex in the future?  Hell, I dont even know if well have a future together.  He sighs as he rubs his forehead. Whatdayasay we leave it at that, huh?

I expect a better explanation after you and Joey talk, alright?  He nods his head dumbly, but stays quiet. Alright then.  Im going to go check on my sister and you can wait out here.
**
Meanwhile on the other side of the door

Dr. Witters pacing back and forth(I so had to say that!) afraid of whats going on behind the closed door. I wonder if I can hear what theyre saying?  Nobodys around.  he places his ear against the door.
**
**Knock, Knock**

Cant she just leave me alone? Jo, are you decent?  Argh!  Apparently not.  I should probably let her in, seeing as shes letting Dr. Witter come down. Yeah, Bess, Im decent.  Come on in.   She walked into the room shyly, and closed the door behind her. You didnt kill him did you Bess?

NO, Jo, I didnt kill him. She said going back into big sister mode. I just asked him a few questions.  Thats all.

You embarrassed him.  Didnt you.  God, I could kill my sister sometimes.

Kind of.  I gave her a disbelieving look. Okay, so I might have embarrassed him.  She said while sitting on the bed.

Bessie. I whined like a little child.  Couldnt you have waited until I talked to him?

Sorry, kid, Im your guardian and it was bound to happen sometime.  She looked over me, You ready to go?

Yeah, Bess, Im ready to go.  I got up and straitened my shirt.  I looked up at her. You know I could really kill you right now, dont you?

I know, but thats what big sisters are for.  She said as she took my hand, leading me towards the door. Come on kid, lets go.
**
On the other side of the door

How come it so quiet.  I hear movement but no voices.  He looks down at the door handle, hearing it move.  Oh, shit, theyre coming out.
He jumps back unceremoniously, while looking like an idiot.
**
You okay there Dr. Witter? I ask him.  Hes blushing, again!  Oh, my, God, he was listening through the door.  Heh. Heh.  Hear anything interesting while you were waiting for us?  Bessie gives me a knowing look.

Ah, not really, just from passerbys.  You know, like whos have sex with who, where this patient threw up and how many times.  The usual hospital talk.
