Sitting in the Rain - Sequel to 'Melting in the Sun'. Seto had always enjoyed the sound of rain. The noise made by the heavy, full raindrops as they fell onto the leaves above made sitting outside in the storm seem worth it, somehow. The water bought with it the fresh, crisp scent of new life and growth, washing away what was old and decayed to make way for change and the blossoming of new things. It was oddly fitting, then, that new feelings should blossom during such weather. New found respect, companionship, even love. The seeds had been planted during the heat of the summer sun, only to come to flower in the rain. Or so Seto felt as he looked up from where he sat, soaking wet on the grass, at Jounouchi. "Mind if I sit here?" The blonde asked, standing casually in the pouring rain with water dripping from his hair and a smile sparkling in his golden eyes. Seto gestured for Jounouchi to sit down beside him beneath their usual tree, giving a small, barely noticeable smile before going back to watching the rain fall over the school yard. The only souls out in the downpour were Bakura and Mokuba, who was attempting to teach the tomb robber how to do a headstand, and Ryou, Yami and Yuugi, who stood beneath a large umbrella watching their friends in amusement. As Seto watched, Yuugi ran out from under the umbrella to join in the fun, leaving Yami to shake his head and smile at his light. "Rain suits you." Jounouchi commented suddenly, looking up at the slightly taller boy next to him through dripping blonde hair. "Why?" Seto asked, raising an eyebrow in question as he gave suitable attention to the way Jounouchi's wet school uniform clung to his skin. He was slightly jealous of that uniform. The blonde thought for a moment, having said the words and knowing they were true, yet not quite knowing why. "It matches your eyes." Jounouchi finally decided, though there was more to it that he had no idea how to explain. "Ah." Seto seemed to understand, and looked out to watch Ryou fuss over his drenched yami with a light smirk. "The sun suits you more." The CEO said after a while, watching Jounouchi shiver slightly and feeling pleased that the blonde would rather be out in the rain with him than in the warmth of the school with everyone else. "Why's that?" Jou asked as the low, deep sound of thunder echoed out somewhere in the distance. "It matches your eyes," Seto used the blonde's line and smiled. "And it's warm." "I'm not warm right now," Jounouchi replied, grinning as he leant against Seto and felt a strong arm move to clasp loosely around his waist. Seto listened to the rain pattering against the leaves and used his free hand to run long fingers through Jounouchi's damp hair, smiling again. He wondered if the blonde would mark each smile down on his score sheet later. "You're always warm." The CEO murmured, leaning back against the tree and listening to the approving rumble of the thunder like a dragon far in the distance. Jounouchi just nodded against Seto's shoulder because, he mused, the brunette was right. He *was* warm. Now, at least. The End.
