It was too quiet, Rune decided, worrying as usual. Normally Thatz would have been running about like an idiot ranting about treasure and gold and shiny things, but today he was just sat quietly in a corner of his room, not even looking up when Rune pushed open the door and called his name.
"Thatz? Are you alright?" The blonde elf asked, approaching the earth knight, who was still huddled in his corner, making strange crunching sounds and the occasional manic giggle.
"Uh..." Rune reached out a hand to touch the thief's shoulder nervously, biting his lip. Thatz was a scary, scary guy sometimes.
"Rune!" Thatz cried happily a moment before the elf could touch him, leaping up and turning to face the water knight, who was so shocked by the sudden outburst that he fell back onto the floor, wincing. "How's it going, dude?"
Rune rubbed his sore back and sat up, blinking his big blue eyes when he found Thatz sitting right in front of him, peering into his face and grinning like a crazy.
"F-fine, I suppose..." Rune stammered, blushing slightly at the look Thatz was giving him. "I just came to see if you were alright..."
Thatz' grin widened and his eyes narrowed like a cat, leaning forward a little so that his nose was almost touching Rune's.
"I knew you cared really." The thief whispered, then leant back again and acted as if nothing had happened, reaching behind himself to pull out a box of something. Rune just blushed even more than he already had been, trembling slightly. He could still feel Thatz' warm breath on his lips, close enough to kiss him, and it had made his heart skip a beat in his chest.
"Wh-what have you been doing in here all day?" The water knight asked, hoping that the dim light in the room would cover his blush until it went down.
"Wouldn't you like to know?" Thatz grinned, not helping Rune's flushed cheeks as he crawled closer and wrapped an arm around the trembling water knight's small shoulders, sitting next to him and waving a small box about with his free hand.
"Th-Thatz-" Rune gasped, stopping when the red box was held up an inch from his face. He read the white writing slowly. "Pocky?"
"Chocolate flavoured Pocky." Thatz nodded, then ripped the box open with his teeth and grinned. "It's the best food in the entire world. Haven't you ever wondered what I spend all that money I steal on?"
"You-you spend it on snacks?" Rune stared. Then again, that didn't surprise him in the slightest. This *was* Thatz, and one of the endearing things about him was that he was incredibly simple. He was one of those people who lived their life and enjoyed it, instead of acting or playing a role for the benefit of others. He hadn't changed a bit since the first time Rune had met him.
"Of course! What else would I spend it on?" Thatz gazed adoringly at his Pocky. "And now, you have to try some." He nodded.
"I do?" Rune blinked, watching Thatz snag a Pocky stick from the box with his teeth.
"Sure, it's more fun eating this stuff when you have someone to share it with."
That said, Thatz leaned in and pressed the chocolate stick he was holding with his teeth against Rune's lips. Rune shivered and parted them to take the sweet, noticing that Thatz wasn't about to let go of it anytime soon.
'Is he going to kiss me?' Rune wondered as he slowly used his teeth to nip off little bits of the Pocky stick, getting closer and closer to Thatz' lips each time. Finally, when there was nothing but a little bit of pretzel stick left, their lips met in a soft, slow kiss and Rune decided he *liked* Pocky very much. Thatz leant over him, gently lowering him to the floor to lie on his back, and stared down at him once they'd parted for air.
"Fun, huh?" The thief smiled, then took out another Pocky stick and twirled it in his fingers before feeding it to Rune, who ate it with his eyes closed, licking Thatz' fingertips like a kitten once he'd finished.
"Very." Rune whispered, parting his lips as Thatz leant down for another kiss.
End
That didn't really deserve to be posted, but I kinda liked it anyway. It was cute, in a sort of random, spur of the moment way.
