Disclaimer: I don't own any of the characters used in this story. I'm just kidnapping them for a bit, don't worry, I'll give them back when I'm done. ^_^ Warning: Yaoi, huuuuuge, enormous and sugary amounts of fluff, randomness, possibly some comedy, because I live for it.... And of course, everyone is madly out of character. Has it ever stopped me before? Author: Koneko Shido A/N: Happy Valentines Day, people! Thought I'd chuck all the random little fluff moments I've got stored on my computer together and make a fic out of them, so this is going to be a bunch of moments that happen to my favourite YGO couples on Valentines Day. Hope you like it! BTW, for anyone who cares, the theme is 'food'. Chocolates and Cheesecake. Number one: Toast. Pairing: SetoXYugi. Toast Seto Kaiba looked up from his newspaper as Yugi walked in carrying a tray of toast and set it down on the table, setting out the jam, butter and plates neatly next to the teapot. "I made breakfast," the little duellist smiled, pouring himself out a cup of tea. "I have servants to do that, you know." Seto informed him, and Yugi pouted cutely. "I know, but I wanted to do it. Besides, they don't know how to make toast properly. They always burn the edges." Yugi pointed to the perfect golden toast he'd just made. "I shall have them fired immediately." Seto smirked, taking a piece of toast and inspecting it carefully. "This one is burnt, see?" He held it up, pointing to a non-existent burnt patch. "Where?" Yugi squinted, not seeing anything. "Right here," Seto watched as Yugi got up and walked around the table to where he sat, plucking the piece of toast from his lover's fingers and looking it over like an art critic, frowning. "Hey, it's not-" He began, cut off with a gasp when Seto pulled him up onto his lap, strong arms wrapped around his trim little waist. "I know, I just wanted you to come over here." Seto said, kissing the side of Yugi's neck. "You... You could've just asked..." Yugi moaned, feeling Seto's hands sliding his shirt up and running over his soft skin. "I'll remember that for next time," Seto murmured against Yugi's throat, smirking. * * * Number Two: Cheesecake. Pairing: SetoXRyou. (More of a birthday story than Valentines, but I thought I'd stick it in here anyway. I just changed it so that Seto's birthday is on Valentines Day. Yup, I'm sooo lazy.) Cheesecake. "Happy Birthday, Kaiba-san!" The employees of Kaiba's company bowed to him, happy, madly annoying fake smiles plastered on their faces. "Thank you." Kaiba replied through gritted teeth, on his way out, thank god. Home. No more idiots surrounding him. No more having to pretend he was happy because they'd all remembered his birthday. Of course they all remembered it! He was the one who paid them, and could fire them at any time, it wasn't as if they were going to forget it! "Happy birthday, Kaiba-san." The limo driver smiled, and Kaiba glared at him. "Home." The CEO snarled, then pressed the button to cut off the back of the limo so that he could wallow in his misery privately. He wasn't even sure why he was feeling so miserable; perhaps it was just because he hated birthdays. Perhaps it was because everyone had been overly nice to him all day. Perhaps it was because his birthday happened to be on Valentines. Or perhaps it was because his lover was away and wouldn't be back until the next day. The limo stopped outside his mansion and Kaiba got out, muttering something he didn't even remember to the driver and stalking in the front door, only to be attacked by a happy bundle of Mokuba. "Big brother! Happy birthday!" The little imp laughed, hugging him around the waist. Kaiba smiled. At least one person was genuinely happy, that was something. "I got you a present, come see!" Mokuba tugged on his sleeve and Kaiba put down his briefcase and followed. "Fine, calm down, I'm coming." Kaiba smiled, allowing himself to be dragged into one of the lounges and sat on a couch. "Here! Isn't it great? I got it at Yugi's game shop!" Mokuba chattered happily, watching his big brother slowly unwrap the parcel on the table before him and smile at the big, cuddly Blue-Eyes White Dragon plushie revealed beneath the bright paper. "It's wonderful, thank you Mokuba." Kaiba said, patting his little brother on the head affectionately. "Have you heard anything from-" "Yes! He called just after you left for work and said that he got the earlier flight back, so he'll be here soon!" Mokuba grinned, knowing that the news would cheer his brother up. "He did?" Seto brightened up a little. "Yep! And since I'm guessing you're going to want some 'grown-up time' with him, can I go stay over at Yugi's? Joey's going too, he's bringing a movie, and we're going to have popcorn and soda and-and-" "Alright, alright. Just tell them that if they let you watch anything that gives you nightmares they're going to have to answer to me." "Yay!!" Mokuba grinned, hugging his brother once more then bouncing off to pack his overnight bag. Mokuba had left an hour or so ago and Seto was bored. He'd been sat on the couch watching television but there was nothing worth watching on, so he'd switched it off and opted to try and read a book. It just wasn't the same without his lover curled up next to him. "I'm home! Is anyone here?" A soft voice with an English accent called out, just as the door opened then closed behind him. Seto turned in his seat, trying to restrain himself from jumping up and hugging his lover as Mokuba had done to him just over an hour ago. "In here." Seto called, watching with a barely concealed smile as Ryou walked in the room. "Where's Mokuba?" The English teen asked, carrying a pink box, which he set carefully down on the table. "At Yugi's shop for the night. How was your trip?" Seto asked, pulling Ryou down into his arms and kissing him tenderly. "Mmmhh... As dull as I'd expected, but I bought you a present. Happy Valentines Day." Ryou smiled, leaning down from where he was perched on Seto's lap to open the box. Kaiba looked at what lay inside and laughed softly. "Cheesecake. With strawberries, even better." The CEO of Kaibacorp. smiled, watching as Ryou nodded and reluctantly removed himself from his comfortable seat on his lover's knee to fetch them two plates, two forks and a knife to cut the large cheesecake. "Tea?" He asked, since he was already up, and Kaiba looked as though he'd had a stressful day. "Hmm. Do all English people drink as much tea as you?" Kaiba asked with a raised eyebrow as Ryou bustled about fetching a pot of tea and the teacups, sugar and milk. "Probably. It's good for you, though. And you can never have too much of a good thing." Kaiba smirked knowingly at that remark, picking up the knife to cut them both a slice of the delicious-looking cake carefully and place them on two plates. Ryou poured him out a cup of tea and placed it on a saucer, then moved back to sit down next to him and curl up at his side, smiling contentedly as he sipped his own drink. "And what did Mokuba buy you for your birthday?" Ryou asked, watching Kaiba pick up his plate and begin to eat his dessert. "This." Kaiba reached down under the table and bought out the teddy to show Ryou, who blinked adorably then burst out laughing. "He means well, I'm sure." The white-haired teen giggled, picturing Seto curling up with his Blue-Eyes. "He bought it at Yugi's Game shop." Seto added, not being able to suppress his smirk at Ryou's redoubled fit of laughter. "What-what are you going to call it?" Ryou gasped, trying not to crack up again. Seto stared at the teddy, smirking. "Ryou." He said, grinning at the English boy's cute blush. "Am I being replaced?" Ryou mock-pouted, picking up his plate to start on his cheesecake. Seto finished his own dessert and leant over to nibble on Ryou's ear, making him gasp and place his plate back down on the table, deciding that some things are more important than cheesecake. "No, it just reminds me of you." Seto murmured, and Ryou moaned softly as the gentle kisses Seto was lavishing on his skin slowly moved down to his pale throat. "How can it remind you of me?" Ryou asked, a little breathless as Seto laid him down on the couch and leant over him. "Because it's the same colour as your hair. And it's soft... just like you." Seto whispered, kissing Ryou's pliant lips passionately. Ryou moaned softly, feeling Seto kiss the side of his throat and begin to unbutton his shirt. It was times like this, he mused, that the phone always seemed to ring. Or someone would knock at the door. But, to his relief, they were left alone as Seto removed his shirt and smirked wickedly at him before moving down to show him just how much he liked his present... * * * Number Three: Pancakes. Pairing: BakuraXRyou. (Did I mention that I have a thing about Maple syrup?? ^_^;;) Pancakes. Bakura cracked one sleepy, crimson eye open and tried to place the strange noise he was hearing, the very same noise that had woken him from his nice, long sleep. It sounded like Ryou singing happily in another room somewhere, and Bakura rolled over onto his chest, letting one arm dangle over the edge of the bed so that his fingers brushed the floor, his fangs glinting as he yawned. Now what would Ryou be doing up and about, singing even, at eight in the morning? Was it worth getting up out of the warm, comfy bed to go investigate, or should he just ignore whatever Ryou was doing and go back to sleep again? Hard decision time. Being the naturally curious type, in the end Bakura rolled over a little more and fell off the bed with a muffled thud, sitting up slowly and looking a little dazed as he tried to remember what he needed to do next in order to get to where Ryou was. He really wasn't a morning person. In the end he came to the conclusion that standing up would help, and staggered to his feet sleepily. Stumbling out of the bedroom he shared with Ryou, the spirit of the ring padded along the hallway and ended up at the kitchen, where he stopped in the open doorway to blink stupidly at what was going on within. Ryou was cooking. This, in itself, was unremarkable. But Ryou was wearing a frilly pink apron, and not a whole lot else. A long t-shirt was all that covered him beneath the apron, other than his slippers, which he was using to slide across the floor in as he went about cooking pancakes, as far as Bakura could tell. It smelled like pancakes. Mmmm... Pancakes. And Ryou. And syrup. An evil, evil smirk creeping across his lips, Bakura shook himself fully awake, then crept silently across the kitchen to where Ryou stood, his back to the spirit behind him. Making sure that Ryou wasn't holding anything hot that might accidentally get thrown all over him, Bakura suddenly grasped Ryou's trim little waist in a pair of strong hands and pulled him back against his chest, grinning wickedly at the startled yelp that came from his brown-eyed lover. "Mornin'." Bakura mumbled, resting his chin on Ryou's soft hair and looking down at the pancakes cooking away on the griddle. "Good morning, Bakura. Are you hungry?" Ryou smiled, cuddling up to his yami as the dark spirit hugged him like a Ryou plushie. "Meh." Bakura grunted. That being Bakura's standard reply for quite a lot of questions, Ryou took it to mean yes, Bakura was indeed hungry and would very much like some pancakes, thank you. "I'm almost done here, would you set the table?" The white haired hikari asked, giving his sweetest, cutest, most hopeful smile. Bakura melted, as usual, under that chocolate gaze. "Meh." The yami repeated, gently letting go of his hikari and wandering off to set the table like a good boy. Of course, he had to have a scowl on his face the entire time, because he had a reputation as a badass to uphold, and if anyone such as Yami Yugi or Seto Kaiba had happened to burst in at that moment and see him setting out plates and cutlery for his boyfriend because he couldn't resist his eyes, Bakura could always say he'd been forced to do it against his will. It could happen! Once his job was done, Bakura sat down at the table and waited for Ryou to finish with the last pancake, wondering where his hikari had gotten that apron. Scarily enough, it suited him completely. Finally, Ryou set a huge plate of perfectly cooked pancakes, the type without a single burnt bit that were a lovely golden brown colour all over, in the middle of the table. Then he fetched a squeezy bottle of maple syrup and placed it next to them, smiling sweetly again at Bakura, who decided that Ryou was sitting too far away. He hopped up, grabbed Ryou, and sat back down again with his hikari on his lap, smirking triumphantly. To his slight surprise, though, Ryou didn't complain or glare at him or even squeak in shock, he just cuddled up to his yami and nibbled cutely on the edge of a pancake as Bakura held him, wondering what was going on. "Bakura?" Ryou asked, looking up at his yami as the spirit snagged a plateful of pancakes and drenched them in syrup. "Mnh?" Bakura said through a mouthful of breakfast, raising a white eyebrow in question. "Do you know what today is?" Bakura paused, swallowing the mouthful of pancake he'd been chewing. What was today? Was it a special occasion? "Your birthday?" He tried, slightly worried. Ryou shook his head. "Nope." The hikari smiled. "My birthday?" Bakura asked hopefully, but Ryou shook his head again. "Christmas?" The yami tried finally, having exhausted all three of the special occasions he knew. Well, except Easter. But he knew it wasn't Easter because there were no chocolate eggs, and no giant rabbit trying to steal them. Or something like that... "Today is Valentines Day." Ryou finally announced happily. Bakura stared at him, taking this new information in slowly. Valentines Day. Today. Well, that was... nice? "Eh... What is Valentines Day?" He asked once he'd figured out that this was not something he was going to be able to work out for himself. "It's a holiday. On Valentines Day, it's tradition to ask someone you love to be your Valentine." Ryou prompted, looking expectant. Bakura blinked at him, absorbing this new information on yet another holiday to add to his list of stupid holidays Ryou liked to celebrate. But... he *did* want to make Ryou happy, and if he was a good boy, maybe Ryou would warm to the idea of being covered in maple syrup... Plus, he did love Ryou, and it was, of course, important to tell him that at least once a year, even if it made him sound like a complete sissy. "Erm... Will you... Will you be my..." Bakura paused, trying to remember the word. Ryou, assuming he was embarrassed, let him off easy and wrapped his arms around his yami's neck, leaning up to kiss him. "Of course I will." Ryou smiled, knowing exactly what Bakura was thinking, since the yami was staring straight at the maple syrup with a thoughtful look in his crimson eyes. Well, it *was* Valentines Day, after all... Perhaps just this once... * * * The End. This was meant to be longer, so I might continue it at some point if I'm in the mood. So yes, there you go. That was fluffy and pointless, and a special present just for everyone who bothered to visit my sad attempt at a site. Ciao!
