Bite Me Bin Laden In Association with Amazon.com

Keep in mind, this is the only place I will ever use the word 'fan' in association with human beings. Fans are usually found in small, enclosed spaces and they move hot air around. Yes, the word 'fan' is often used as a shortened form of 'fanatic.' If wish to be known as one of these, you need medical help. Onward.

By its nature, fan fiction is being done entirely for the fun of it. We are using someone's else work entirely without their permission or knowledge. We are never going to make a dime with it. We might get lucky and someone will publish it where a few hundred of our like-minded friends can see it. It's also a very rich playground for writers to learn their craft.

This is probably the only other place I'd admit I've been alive and doing something more than 30 years.

Maybe, someday, I'll make some money with it. Today is not the day. Tomorrow isn't looking much better.

Anything you read here was done completely without permission. I never asked a soul if I could take their work, twist it to suit my own ends and publish it with my name on it. Some of these pieces include new characters and situations and I would appreciate it if you would contact me before using these characters elsewhere. Please don't napsterize my ass. Drop me a note first.

And now, on with the show...

If there's a link, there's a story for you to read. Will get as much uploaded as quickly as possible. I've been at this a while - only the newest stuff was done on a computer.

Ranma 1/2 (What's Ranma 1/2?)

Ranma: Motherhood In Collaboration with James Bell. Still in Production. Check Back Often for Updates.

Ranma's been raped. Somebody - or - something was strong enough to beat him, freeze him into his girl form and leave him pregnant. While he considers his options, the rapist is still at large...and his other victims aren't surviving his attacks. With Ranma on the injured reserve list, who is going to stop the rapist?

Read the story that has spawned a cross-country courtship, engagement and marriage. It's Jim's fault...it's all his fault...this was his idea, and I stumbled across it one afternoon while web surfing and here we are. It's a great idea, and we are writing, refining and rewriting it as fast as we can. You will be leaving the safety of Geocities for Jim's site on Angelfire...remember to hit the 'Back' button to come back to the Haven for the rest of the stories. We're up to Part Seven on the site, but are slowly going through all of Jim's old stuff...updating, rewriting and making improvements. As we go through this process, "final" versions will be appearing as fast as we can make them. Enjoy the roughs - doubtful you will recognize the finished product when I get through with them!

Part one "Final" won Third Place in the Ranma FanFiction Awards for the Month of March 2002. One word - WOW Thank you so much!

I'm also considering releasing a Palm version as well as a PDF, so let us know which format YOU want, okay?

Quantum Leap
Well Enough Complete, 1992 PDF version with artwork
It's 1978, and Sam has leaped into an oncologist treating patients in a district hospital in the middle of nowhere. What has this got to do with Al, and why isn't he speaking to him?

Heh. Funny how things turn out. I write a story reworking Al's past in 1992, and it ends up being the crux of the series ender when Don Bellisario takes a crack at it in 1993. Well, who could blame him? I had a lot of fun writing this one, and spent a lot of hours reading it aloud to my favorite audience long distance as I was writing it. It originally appeared in Play It Again 3, and when I get the file ready to upload, I'll try to get permission to upload the illustrations too. They were wonderful! Thanks Kate!

I Owe My Soul to the USO Incomplete, Started 1992PDF version

Al is still doing the leaping after being switched with Sam following 'Shock Theater' - he's in WWII Europe playing the accordion with three showgirls. But things are not always what they seem...

Another one for my favorite audience. Someday, I'll finish it for sure! This one's my love letter to Switzerland...enjoy!

Gimme A Break! Complete, 1992 PDF Version

It's no picnic being left behind at the Project. You try being Donna.

I'm amazed...looking for the original file for Well Enough, I found this little 6 page wonder...it's more of a writing exercise than anything else, but I remember being driven to put this down after hearing PAMBAG over Sam's alledged marriage to Donna (again, after Shock Theater). It was fun, and pretty good if I do say so myself. Nobody ever got to see it except my favorite audience. Enjoy!

Man from U.N.C.L.E.
Aunt Amy's Remedy Complete, 1983...I think
A good cure for things that go bump in the night.

Also originally appeared in print. A cute little vignette about two men, some hot chocolate and a lot of brandy.

A Change in Affairs Incomplete, 1986

My take on what happened after 'Return of the Man from U.N.C.L.E.'

Ugh. Ambitious project, met and married a Swiss mountain climber instead and never finished the story. Will have to revisit it someday.

The Incredible Hulk
The Nightmare Child, Pts. 1 and 2 Complete, 1981

A runaway dogs the heels of Dr. David Banner and he discovers he will have to find a safe haven to get rid of her for good. But who's looking out for who?

Check the date. This originally appeared in my one and one zine, Starbird and I was finishing part two as we were going to press at the behest of my co-editor. I can honestly say this was when I really started trying hard to build my own characters from scratch and not put myself in the story with a phony name to cover it up. Sunny Webster was not intended to be my alter-ego, but only an 18-year-old would think 14 is a radical departure in age. It's here because I write what I like to read and I still enjoy reading this. Hope you do too.

Also, keep your eyes open -- you'll find Sunny Webster in other places...John Landis, I'll see you next Wednesday!

Why do we do this? Who writes fan fiction and why do they do it?

You're not alone in this, y'know. There are a lot of us out there. Check out these resources on the gentle art of popular culture.

Will try to get images up for all these titles as soon as possible. (Thanks, Amazon...grrr....)
