| WHAT IS A FLOPPY DISK? |
| A floppy disk is a small piece of plastic that you can save data to. This is useful for several reasons: (1) You can save information to a floppy disk so in the event that your computer crashes, that information has not been lost because it was saved to a place other than your computer. This is called creating a 'back up copy'. (2) Saving information to floppy allows you to transport it to another computer and open it there. Sometimes you may want to move information from computer to computer, and floppy disks allow you to do this. |
