| George Scherger replaced Boyd Bartley as Ponca City manager in 1951, when Boyd returned to Camp Chaffee, Arkansas during the Korean War. George later became the first base coach for the Cincinnati Reds during Sparky Anderson's reign during the "Big Red Machine Days" of the 1970's. |
