THE BEATLES UNSEALED
Practice #8 of The renewed Compact: Sep. 29, 2006: @Chel's Beatles CD: he brought us a CD of The Beatles released in 1964 for listening: I've got it for further practice to make duet in "If I Fell". Practiced the song a few times. Due to malfunction of microphones, we sang without mics. Difficult to get accurate pitches in some part. Partly nice harmony. @Yow's trumpet: Yow still sticking to trumpet. As for trumpet he is not a skilled player, but he says he loves playing it anytime and anywhere more than other woodwinds. It seems he puts his priority to his instrument rather than those of the rest, as though he has no idea that he is playing for an ensemble, where type of tunes takes various sturucture of instruments. But Chel and Hil, longstanding and gentle members of The Compact, accepts him as he is. This interests me so much. I feel some kind of natural flow of peaceful atmospehre in this band and in this place of our practice. And there are always struggles among us towards higher level of our music. No idea what drives us there, but this truly excites me. @Yow's new work at Hil's: Yow has got a job from Hil. He will start to work in October. This job offer had come to Taneley at first. According to Taneley it is a hard work; driving a big box-car in Tokyo, distributing products and purchasing materials for sewing men's suits. Daily pay is 8k yen. However, better to work than not to work, for a man who has a family with no children. @TT away from Yow's band: TT has helped Yow so far. But after he established his own band, TT is allegedly going away from Yow's band. Yow's music volunteering band is very unique. On the internet, Yow gathers people who want to play or sing as volunteers. There come skilled and unskilled people. Yow also gathers requests to play from welfare facilities, such as nursing home for senior people. That seemed to have worked for a while. But now some once-active members began to go away one by one. TT is one of them. TT says, "Music has something, but I cannot find anything there. Nothing to gain." @Yow asked Chel for help:Yow told Asa, Hil and me about a story before Chel came up to practice. That is: Because of TT's dropout, Yow asked Chel to play the guitar instead and sent Chel Yow's band's URL to let him know what Yow's band is. Then Chel excused himself from Yow's request. Yow expressed this inappropriately in manner. Hearing Yow's story, I deeply sighed. Yow's remark is always off the mark. He cannot read people around. Yow, watch yourself! 2006-09-30 04:18:08 GMT

Japan entered aging society and I think not all generations love The Beatles yet. Those of about 70 years of age or up love Hawaiian more than Rock'n rolls. Some of them hate Rocks. But they will die soon, and there comes the time when we can say all generations love The Beatles. Hail the Beatles! --KO |
