System Philosophy
Enlightenment is a personal journey........
No particular religious path is instructed in Ra Shin Ryu. This is a personal choice. However personal growth, both physically, and mentally are a main goal. Interestingly enough when a strong body and mind develope, a strong spiritual side naturally evolves. It is a pleasent side effect of hard disciplined training. An eastern Zen flavor is instilled in the system. Eastern traditions and Western traditions blend nicely, and we are proud of our students mind, body, and spiritual developement. A simple path, loaded with hard work, and hard thinking, produces a person with sound fundamental thought processes. However it all comes down to individual effort. A person must forge themselves through diligent, and steady work. What they put in, is what they get out.
Dojo Kun
1. Respect other people.
2. Respect the dojo
3. Strive for perfect personal developement.
4. Train hard and ask questions.
5. Come to class with a right mind, reason, attitude, and purpose.
6. Treat people how you wish to be treated.
7. No fighting or sparring without instructors present.
8. Respect all equipment.
9. Leave the dojo with no animosity, talk it out!
