Sorrow
and Anger
Hiiro
x Duo
Tawnya
Kisaragi
It was early morning
before the two Gundam pilots settled down for sleep. Amid a swirl of sheets and chestnut waves, Duo
laid wrapped up tight in Hiiro’s embrace, placing feather soft kisses to his
lover’s chest. Hiiro, for all
appearances, was asleep. With a soft
grunt, he wrapped a leg around Duo’s lithe body and pulled him even closer,
burying his face in the Deathscythe pilot’s soft hair.
After a moment, he
said softly, “Duo, do you *want* me to fuck you stupid?”
“I’ll never get enough
of you, koi. So what do you think the
answer is?” Duo chuckled, placing one last kiss before looking up into the
Japanese teen’s face. Hiiro opened one
cobalt eye and glared at Duo.
“Hn. Baka. Go to sleep.”
The American chuckled again and resisted the urge to drive Hiiro into
answering his own question. Instead, he
curled up next to Hiiro’s warm body and finally let sleep come…
*Puru Puru*
Or
maybe not…
*Puru Puru*
“Maybe if we ignore
it, it will go away…” Duo suggested.
*Puru Puru*
*Puru Puru*
*Puru Puru*
*Puru Puru*
*Puru Puru*
Hiiro growled deep in
his throat, now glaring promised death at the phone on the bed-stand.
“Omae o korosu…”
*Puru Puru*
Duo sighed and pushed
himself up from the bed, quickly kissing Hiiro on the end of his nose before
rolling over and grabbing the phone before it could ring again and get ripped out of the wall.
“Ne,
hello?”
“………Duo?”
Duo rolled his eyes. “Wufei?”
“…Is Hiiro there?”
“Yeah, but you’re
probably lucky he’s not the one talking to you right now, otherwise he might
figure out some way to kill you through the phone line.” Hiiro snorted and rolled over. Duo playfully reached over and poked Hiiro in
the back, who rolled back over and glared at the
American pilot. Duo flashed him a v-sign
and returned to Wufei. “Dude, what are you doing calling this early in the frickin’ morning anyway? And where the hell
are you? Didn’t you come home last
night?”
“That’s why I’m
calling, dolt. Quatre woke up last
night. I stayed all night with Trowa
here in the hospital. The doctors say
he’s going to make a full recovery.”
Duo nearly dropped the
receiver.
“Duo?…
Duo, are you still there?”
“Yeah, I’m here.”
“Well?”
“Yeah… that’s great…”
“… Is everything all
right over there?”
“Yeah. Fine.”
“Ok. I’m going to drag
Trowa out for a while this afternoon at about two. If you and Hiiro want to come see Quatre, and
he really wants to talk to you, Duo, then come at that time.”
“Ok…”
“Are you sure
everything is fine?”
“Yeah. Thanks, Wufei. Talk to you later.”
Reluctantly, Wufei
hung up the hospital phone. He glanced
over his shoulder into the room Quatre had been moved
into, to where Trowa stood beside the bed simply holding the blond boy. It was going to take an act of the Gods to
move him from that spot, but Wufei had to try.
If Trowa saw Duo with Quatre, the hospital staff would be scrubbing the
blood off the walls for years to come…
Duo stared at the
phone for a while, then reached over and hung it up. He remained there for several minutes,
propped up on his elbows, staring at his hands.
Hiiro, sensing his lover’s distress, scooted over and kissed Duo’s bare
shoulder, then squeezed it reassuringly.
“Nandato?”
“That was Wufei.”
“Aa.”
“He said Quatre woke
up last night.”
“Then what’s wrong?”
“Wufei said he wants
to talk to me. That if you and I want to
go see him, he’s gonna drag Trowa out of the hospital around two this
afternoon.”
“So?”
“So I thought I got
over that nightmare. I know Trowa’s mad at me, not that he doesn’t have every right to
be. But... I
don’t think I could handle it if Quatre…”
“Quatre is not that
type of person. He doesn’t
make judgments without all the facts. And facts are that you were not, and never were, responsible
for what happened on that mission. We got set up. It was
trap. It was designed to do exactly what
happened; for one of us to lose faith in ourselves and
for the others to lose faith in them as well.
I know that. Wufei knows that.
Quatre soon will. Only Trowa
refuses to see past his anger.
“Nothing you could
have done would have prevented the outcome of the mission. In fact, you probably saved us. If you hadn’t been
acting the way you were, you’d probably have a bullet in you head, Quatre would
have died of blood loss or been captured and I would have self-destructed. He will understand.”
“But
what about Trowa? If he sees me there… Well, I guess I’ll finally find out if
God is real or not…”
“Don’t say that,”
Hiiro hissed. Duo looked at him,
startled. “I just found you. I’m not going to let
anyone take you away from me. You’ve
been too much trouble to get in the first place to simply let go.” He leaned forward and kissed Duo on the
forehead. “That means I’m not going to
let anyone hurt you ever again. You’re a part of who I am now, Duo. You’re too important not to protect.”
Duo curled back up
against Hiiro, a mixture of conflicting emotions swirling in his mind. At length, he sighed.
“I believe you,
Hiiro. I trust you. As long as you’re with me, I’ll be fine.”
“Does that mean you’re
going to go?”
“Hai.”
