Dear readers,

A further proof - if it's necessary – has been made for the untenability of the thesis about number 13 as an ill-fated number: Proletarian Review No. 13 . Nice as Communism and instructive as ever it is focused on the red star of Internationalism.

Firstly, there are the imperialists with their world-wide organisations (Imperialist Economic Plannning Commission ..., p.3) that put the economies of the dependent countries through the mill with their Structural Adjustment Programmes (p.7).

But wherever there is suppression there is resistance too. In two articles starting at p. 30 light is thrown on the history of international associations of the workers' movement, and you can read an inventory of current Communist Internationals from p. 27 onwards. Reports on Nepal (p.15), India (p.17), and Venezuela (p. 19) give an insight into the situation of revolutionary processes in these countries.

Our series "Aberrations and Confusions in the Leftist Micro-cosmos" deals with those in the context of relations to the struggle of the oppressed peoples in the dependent countries – starting with an analysis of national chauvinism in imperialist centres of the socalled "Anti-Nationals" (Who is afraid..., p. 21). Another article starting on p. 24 throws light on the positions of the "Only-Anti-Imps". In this context we give much space in issue to the anti-imperialist Brasilian cartoonist Latuff who was badly attacked by stupidly babbling reactionaries last year.

Recently revolutionaries in Austria need not look furtively at other countries in such a jealous manner any longer. (Starting in spring we have had the biggest mass strikes and industrial actions in Austria since the fifties – remark of the translator.) You can read about the industrial actions at VOEST (steel works) and ÖBB (Austrian Federal Railways) on p. 10, an analysis of the strikes at AUA (airlines) is to be found at p. 46.

The visitors of our home-page have known it for months, that followers of the Communist Party of Nepal (Maoist) have let us have their points of view on our Founding Declaration. This as well as our reply can be read starting on p. 37.
