How to change Wallpaper ======================= 1. Load the firmware .sre file 2. Find start address (for example write 2ABE99 into start address field and then click "Draw" button) 3. Select 4P/B Compress format. Now you can see "Sony bird" 4. Cut the current window with arrow buttons until it has exactly the same size as the picture. In this wallpaper example you need 96x77 pixels window. So press arrow up button until the height of the window will be 77 (current width ans height is displayed near the buttons). 5. Press "load BMP" button and select your favourite picture 6. Now you can see the result of resampling. If you don't like it, simply press Ctrl + R and you can see the previous content. 7. If you want to write the new picture into FW file, click on the "Turn on the edit mode" checkbox and press Ctrl + S or "Save changes" button. 8. If you press Ctrl + R now, your new picture remains on the screen. It means it has been correctly written into FW file. How to change Puzzles ===================== Follow the instructions for wallpaper, but use 1P/B compression and full window size (96x92) First puzzle picture is at 308170 address. How to change icons =================== Be carefull, it is less tested than every other modes! 1. Switch into 8B/P mode 2. Reduce window width to 16, (if you want to use LoadBMP image, reduce also height to 12 pixels, but I don't advise you to use this functionality) 3. Find icon, you want to change (in 5.1.4 FW icon are around the address 29D54D (that's me :))) 4. Turn on the edit mode 5. Use black (pixel present) and dark grey color (mask) to change picture Be careful to change only the parts you surely know that icon is!! Don't change anything around! 6. press Ctrl + S to save your work. Key commands for Sony Image Viewer ================================== Right arrow = move one byte forward Left arrow = move one byte back Down = move one line forward Up = move one line back Page Down, Page Up = next, previous window All this commands read the requested content from file, so you can use it as "refresh" for your unsaved changes too. Ctrl + S = save current window (only in edit mode) Ctrl + R = refresh current window content
