Katie and I are visiting Walt Disney World Florida for our honeymoon.
I've been there twice previously and enjoyed it a great deal.
This will be Katie's first trip to Mickey's place in Florida.
Because Katie has to finish school after we get married, we're waiting until mid-June to go.
We'll be departing from Spokane Monday June 18 on
Delta and coming home the following Monday; stoping in Salt Lake City both trips. We had been booked through Seattle - when we had a big weirdo as our travel agent - but our new agent booked us through Spokane and saved us $400 on the fare. Can't beat that. It just goes to show that you have to shop around for the best price, and not have a flaky agent!
According to Birnbaum's 2001 Walt Disney World Official Guide, "The city feel of Port Orleans gives way to the rural South upriver at Dixie Landings. The resort is divided into 'parishes.' Closest to the 'city,' guestrooms are found in mansion homes; farther upriver are the Bayou rooms, with a more rustic feel. The guest registration area is located in a building designed to resemble a steamship. When guest check in, they are booking passage the steamboat. The food court, resturant, lounge, and shop are all located in the same building." When we go to Florida our hotel will be renamed Port Orleans because the current Port Orleans and Dixie Landings are merging. The former Port Orleans will be called the French Quarter and the former Dixie Landings called the Riverside.
We plan to visit Magic Kingdom, Epcot Center, Disney-MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom and Sea World. We're going to take one day trip away from Orlando, to either Kennedy Space Center or Daytona Beach. We'll update the site with info from the trip to make everyone jealous.
