Hey everybody, because this Web site is all about our wedding we thought it would be a good idea to tell you little about us as a couple. The photos at the bottom might take a while to download - but it's worth it.

Katie and I met at North Central High School and began dating Nov. 7 1996. I knew Katie as Jason McCollim's sister because we were in choir together - times have changed a lot since then.

Some people say that they knew he or she was the one and I can't say for sure if that is true for everyone, but in our case we know and will know for the rest of our lives that we were meant for each other. She fills my life with joy every moment and I never want to be without her.

With both of us in college it's hard to find time to enjoy each other's company, but come wedding time I'll be graduated from Gonzaga University and weeks after Katie will be a graduate of the Spokane Falls Community College Photography program. We'll be working but at least we won't have to go to classes.

It's too early to tell where we'll be in the next year or so, but for sure we'll be together.

The Engagement

Our engagement story isn't really one of great romance but rather one of averting disaster and having a great happy ending. Early on the morning of March 28 1999. I woke Katie and told her I was going to the store to get bacon. Why bacon? I still don't know.

In actuality I went to my mom's house to call her and wake her up. I said, "Today is a gonna be a pretty special day." I told her I had set aside clothes for her in the closet and that I would be there to pick her up in an hour.

"I was asleep when he called and was surprised," Katie said.

I arrived back at the apartment and presented her with a single red rose. Soon, we got on Interstate-90, driving to Coeur d'Alene for the popping of the question. Unfortunately my truck had other plans. Not two miles down I-90 my truck's driveline snapped and began dragging below the bed of the truck. The thump and the sparks were enough to tell me to pull over and that things might not be working out as I had planned.

Luckily Katie had her cell phone and so I called her dad. (The thing you need to know is that all the parents had jobs to do while we were in Coeur d'Alene but we'll get to that later.) Tom and Kim both arrived and we all waited for a tow truck. As we waited a Washington State Trooper pulled up wondering why three vehicles were parked at the side of the Freeway.
