Better Days in the Void

Pieces missing from the beginning
Denied simple solutions
To the void held close inside
Slowly consumed with it's cancer
And need to find unknown resolution
Of this nothingness

Maybe
I'm just searching for better days
Or looking for a reason to stay
In these craters of despair and bodies
Waiting for any knowledge or reason
To break apart the demand conservation
To speak from lips sworn shut
That everything's going to be better

We keep lying to ourselves
Of this hate and the pain
That we've dug in our brains
The truth that burns out
Of sunshine and rain
Plaster these memories on the inside
Like the smiles that you hide
And tell yourself
You'll be alright

Because
We're going to be alright
